I thank the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception for two things. First, for helping me to find a wonderful job. I became a maid in the house of a very rich lady. She pays me well. Second, when she is out I can try on all her shoes, blouses and skirts.

Housemaid Felipa Garcia was drunk and her hands were shaking. Because of that she broke a marble statuette. She thanks the Virgin of Guadalupe with this retablo because her mistress neither hit her nor fired.

Señora Mercedes was ironing clothes in the house of the Cataña family and was looking after Nicanor, the 10 months old baby. While he was playing he pushed the table, and the hot iron fell down. Realizing what a terrible accident could happen, Mercedes thanks Saint Jude Thaddeus for saving the baby from the iron. She ordered this retablo for escaping from this situation.
