On December 25, 2021 James Eddy woke up with covid so he petitioned Santa Rosalia, the patroness saint of plagues and San Roque, the patron saint of epidemics and disease, and he was cured. He rendered this retablo to commemorate the divine intervention and his subsequent miraculous recovery which occurred on January 1, 2022. Executed in the City of San Francisco on this 18th day of January in the year of our Lord, 2022.

We are infinitely thankful to Saint Roch, patron of epidemics, because finally the COVID-19 vaccine has been found. We are asking, with all our faith, to use it to end the pandemic and let all the people in the world—whatever their social or economic status—to get it.
