Foxes had been eating our turkeys. Then the Virgin of Zapopan gave an idea to my daughter to buy some geese. The geese bit the foxes and chase them away. We thank the Holy Virgin because the foxes never came back.

I went to Los Capulines ranch to sell some embroidered blankets and I took my baby with me. Señora Luz bought the blankets but on my way out the geese saw me. Since they didn’t know me they got very angry and started chasing me. I was afraid they would hurt my little baby, and I implored Saint Quiteria. Thanks to her the geese didn’t harm us. They were only running around and making a lot of noice. I thank the saint for her protection because the geese can be very furious and dangerous.

June 25, 1965, Emelia Ramirez went to sell some embroidered blankets. When she cane to the patio of a big house she was immediately attacked by loads of furious geese. They tried to bite her, and, fearing that they might bite her baby, she prayed Saint Quiteria. The saint helped her to escape to the street with only two bites on her legs but none to the baby, for which she dedicates this retablo.

My daughter Luisa was afraid of the birds, even the canaries. One day after school, she had to bring something to my friend. At the friend’s house the geese attacked my girl. They chased her. Luisa got scared and prayed to Saint Rosalia. The saint protected her from the angry geese—they managed to bite her only once—in her leg. I dedicate this retablo thanking the saint, because the geese might be very dangerous.
