One warm evening I was swimming underwater on the beach in Ixtapa, Ziuatanejo. I was admiring the beauty of the sea when suddenly a shark started to chase me. And of course I saw the devil near by it. He told the shark to attack me. But I entrusted myself to the Virgin of Zapopan and managed to save myself.

Nicolas Hernandez offered this retablo to the Virgin of Guadalupe because she saved him from being eaten by the sharks when he was surfing at the beach while on honeymoon with his wife. When I noticed the danger, I entrusted myself to you and now I’m alive to tell about it.

We went fishing, and our boat started leaking. There were a lot of hungry sharks around the boat. We asked the Virgin of the Rosary for protection, and miraculously we arrived to the shore before our boat sank and we were eaten by the sharks. We thank for that.
