Fidelia Tecanguey had a dream in which the painter Frida inspired her to paint. She started painted since then. She entrusted herself to Saint Pancras whom she brings the present retablo thanking him for she even sold some painting.

I thank Saint Jude Thaddeus, with the present exvoto, for the great talent of the painter Diego Rivera. I admire his work very much but my favorite is his mural “Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central” which I like for its colors and beauty.

I admire the paintings of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. I thank Saint Rita with this exvoto because when I travelled to Mexico I visited the Modern Art museum to contemplate one of my favorite works—her self-portrait called “The Two Fridas”.

A seamstress Domitila Betansos brings this retablo to the Virgin of the Solitude giving her thanks because she met the painter Frida who gave her a great present—a sewing machine that she lacked so much.

I dedicate this exvoto to the great talent of the French painter Claude Monet. I admire his beautiful works full of color like his painting “Woman with a Parasol” and many other that made him the most important figure of the Impressionism and one of the best painters of 19th–20th centuries.

I dedicate the present exvoto to Saint Jude Thaddeus for the great talent of the painter David Alfaro Siqueiros. His vision of social problems and his particular style of capturing the working masses, workers and peasants made him, along with Rivera and Orozco, a distinguished figure of the muralism.
