An eagle used to take my pigs. But one day when it caught my piglet, I got so mad, I started to kick it with the broom and then I threw the broom into it. I hit it so hard, that the eagle dropped his pray. I thank the Virgin for the piglet fell into the drinking trough and didn’t get hurt. And the eagle never came back.

A crocodile got in our house. I tried to drive it out with a broom but my sister got another idea. She sprayed insecticide at the crocodile. It didn’t like either the sound of spraying or the taste of the insecticide that it got in its mouth. However, the crocodile decided that better go away. We thank the Virgin of San Juan because the animal didn’t bite us.

I took my kids to walk in the field and we stayed there up till late. We didn’t noticed that it was the witch time, when the witches fly to Catemaco on their brooms. I thank the Blessed Sacrament for protecting us, with its infinite power, from the witches so they didn’t see us.

When I became a widow, I left alone with my daughter and my little daughter. And two of my older sons had gone to the capital. So it was easier to the thieves to steal our animals. But thanks to the Holy Sacrament we tuned out to be strong women and managed to protect our animals and to give a thrashing to the thief who was going to steal our pigs. We attacked him with broom and rolling-pins.

My angora cat was very beautiful and delicate. So I had to chase all the stray cats that surrounded her away from her with broom. I didn’t want her to have kittens with these dirty ugly creatures. I give thanks to the Virgin of San Juan because doña Leti, my neighbor, was given a very beautiful male cat, and my kitty had a lot of cute furry kittens with him.
