Medora García

On their way back from the celebration in Lagos de Moreno where they got pretty drunk, the Vasquez ran into the Weeping Woman ghost who blocked the road. They prayed to the Blessed Sacrament for protection from the ghost. The brothers managed to ran home safe and sound but got so scared they stopped drinking ever since.

The Lozano Lopez family thanks the Lord of Villaseca for healing their five donkeys. They got sick a week ago, and the doctor said they would die. But thanks to your miracle they are cured.

The morning of May 25 1964, I went to the market to buy meat and sausages. On my way back I was attacked by dogs. They grabbed my meat and started to eat it. I was afraid I’d be fired from my job as a cook if I came back without meat. I prayed the Holy Virgin, and she scared the dogs away. I picked up the meat, although it was slightly bitten, and cooked it marvelously at home.

It caused me a lot of anger that the slackers of the village came to steal the fruits from my vegetable garden which I took a lot of care of. I prayed the Virgin of San Juan for solution, and then my nephew Juan gave me three very angry-looked dogs. Now I even have fun when the kids come to steal because they run away terrified when I let the dogs out. It’s a very good entertaining.

Since we needed money so badly, I decided—after noticing that the prostitutes from the Rosales street earned quite a good money—to try this thing. I put on a blouse in which I looked very beautiful, took my sister’s skirt, borrowed high heels shoes and went to the Rosales street. First, a horrible drunk old man hit on me. He wanted me to go with him but I ran from him. Then came the police and tried to put us in jail, but I managed to escape. I thank Saint Raymond, and I suppose it’s better to work in a bakery.

My kitchen was filled with cockroaches. I was spending days killing them but they didn’t end. Thanks to Saint Paschal Baylon a pair of hunting cats come here. They went to my kitchen and began to catch the cockroaches. And I put myself to some other, more nicer things. I dedicate this retablo to Saint Paschal for this miracle.

I dedicate this retablo to the always Holy Virgin of Guadalupe. The Night of the Dead, I was glad I’d been able to collect some money to put up my altar with lot of offerings, including even mole and pulque. At the last moment, a sparkle fell on me and I was taken by fire immediately, but thanks to the Virgin’s intervention nothing happened.

Thanks to her my grandmother scared the dogs away, and they left me in peace. I thank for they didn’t tear my dress and my wedding was very beautiful.
