There was a fire in the circus. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because there was a horse tied to near me, so I rode it and escaped from the fire carrying my children. We went through the flames without burning ourselves. Nobody died in the fire, we just lost our materials, but the circus has an insurance which will cover it.

The lion escaped from his cage and was about to attack the beautiful Carinina but the Virgin gave me courage and I put him back in the cage treating him with my shoe. I thank the Virgin because now I feel brave.

April 30, 1930, we were performing in Villahermosa, Tabasco. During the lion taming act the tamer received a strong scratch and even his clothes were torn and his skin was cut. The furious animals was about to attack him again and we thought it should kill the tamer. But suddenly the Holy Virgin made a miracle and saved his life.

I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because working as an animal tamer in the circus I bring joy to the children and this makes me more happy. Moreover I enjoy the company of my animals whom I successfully trained with love and rewards.

I used to work as a magician’s assistant for many years. Then I deiced I had enough. The main reason was that the magician was very clumsy. He could drop me down during the levitation routine hurting me very bad. Or when he was sawing me I was always scared he might really cut me in half. I thank Saint Helen for she helped me to make up my mind, take all the acts we used to do and create my own performance routine. I became one of the few female magicians. I have a big success, and I’m constantly asked to perform at different events.

I thank Saint Francis of Assisi because during all this time I haven’t received anything more serious than small cuts and bruises caused by my godfather known as Elvis the Knife Thrower. In spite of improving his act, he still has to practice a lot. And I keep living in fear.

When I saved my piggy Tocineto (Bacon) from being cooked for the Christmas dinner and raised him I couldn’t think that thanks to him I would perform in the circus with the most unusual act. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for giving me an idea to train my piggy and for he was so smart and quickly learnt all tricks.
