One morning, I opened a window, and then hundreds of wasps flew into our house. I ran to protect my baby. I was afraid they sting them. I implored Saint Michael the Archangel, and thanks to him the wasps flew around us a little bit and then went out of the window without attacking us. I thank because my babe was saved.

My children and I were walking along the river when suddenly a terrible rainstorm began. The wall of rain were so dense we couldn’t see where to go. I was scared that because of the rain the water in the river might rise and take us. So while we were running I began to pray the Virgin of Zapopan, and she stopped the rain in a miraculous way. The splendid sun appeared shining in the sky and covered us with its warm rays. I thank for that and present this retablo as a testimony to that miracle.

My daughter Juanita tried to save a cat who fell in the well and stuck at a bump, but almost fell down as well. Only thanks to the Virgin of the Rosary’s protection her dress caught a nail. Her sister Marta managed to grab her and cried for help. I thank for that.

My fiancé went to work to the North. Some time later I stopped receiving his letters. I though he had forgiven about me. I was disappointed and angry. Thats why I accepted the marriage with Ramon Alcantara, although I didn’t love him at all. But on the day of the wedding, my old fiancee Fernando came riding horse, grabbed me and took me away. We got married in another town. Then I found out it was my brother who hid the Fernando’s letters because he disliked him. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because my love came back to me right in time and I didn’t make such a horrible mistake.

An eagle used to kill the chicken at our small farm. I prayed the Lord of the Wonders and he, in his infinite goodness, made the eagle fly away from our places. It never came back, so I thank.

I loved swimming underwater and diving right to the bottom to see what an incredible life boils down there. I felt like a mermaid in my dominion. But one day, I caught up in the algae while enjoying swimming underwater. I tried to get out but only tangled up myself more. I felt pain in my lungs. Just when I thought I was going to die I saw a light and got free. I know it was Saint Barbara who get me out, and I thank for it.

The night of November 1, the sisters Ballesteros were coming back from the mass. In an alley, they ran into a skeleton party. The dead gallantly invited them to join the party but the sisters ran away frightened. They thank the Virgin of Zapopan for the skeletons didn’t follow them. They locked themselves in the house, and didn’t get out for a few days, nor they opened the door for anybody.

I took my kids to see their grandmother. It went very well so we stayed till late night. On our way back we suddenly found ourselves surrounded by hundreds of bats. They were flying around us and even blocked the Moon. We were scared that they might bite us, or suck our blood, or give us rabies. I prayed the Virgin of the Rosary. Thanks to her these creatures didn’t do anything to us and we got home safely.

My husband had bad times at work, and he started sleepwalk. The worst was that he was going out to sit at the church steps. I was dying of shame only imagining that somebody could see him in his underwear—quite threadbare one, I must say. I had to bring him back to bed, and I couldn’t sleep well. I thank the Virgin for the things at my husband’s work have been settled, so he doesn’t sleepwalk anymore and I can finally sleep in peace.

My son brought home a dirty stray dog. He and his little sister were delighted with this sack of fleas. I didn’t want this dog to stay in the house and tried to kick it out of the house. But the children watched me with fear in their eyes, so I couldn’t do it. My husband and I bathed this dog and bought it an anti-flea collar. The dog turned out to be very affectionate so we don’t regret to foster it. We thank Saint Francis for sending us this dog.

Audalia Mendez thanks the Virgin of Zapopan for sending her a presentiment about the hall storm that night. Since the roof of the stable and of the coop was blown by the wind, her animals were unprotected and left to the mercy of the inclemency of the weather. So she decided to prevent it and put them all in the house right in time because the hail storm was terrible. The animals felt safe and warm inside the house.

When my sister and I noticed a storm coming we bring the animals to the shed. We just put the donkey in when the storm began. It was so strong we couldn’t go out and run to the house. We heard the walls cracking and prayed the Virgin of Paloma so that the shed would withstand under the wind and rain because it seems it going to be blown off any minute. We thank for it withstood and protected all of us.
