Saint Paschal Baylon

My kitchen was filled with cockroaches. My cat was very lazy to catch them. I didn’t know how to get rid of them. Saint Paschal gave me an idea to bring all my farm animals to the kitchen—the pigs, the ducks, the chicken. They ate all the cockroaches saving my kitchen, although they dirtied it up a little.

I thank Saint Paschal because I was admitted to the monsieur Pierre Bouvier school. He is the best chef but also the most strict teacher in the town of Santo Tomas. Thanks to the saint I cook very deliciously and occasionally invent new dishes. My teacher is very pleased with me. He thinks I’ll be a good chef.

My dog was very hungry because with so many work to do I forgot to feed it. The animal pulled the mushroom soup on the floor and ate a lot of it. But afterwards it got sick. It seems there was a poisonous mushroom in the soup. I thanks Saint Paschal for the pet doctor gave serum and other medicine to the dog and saved the animal. Because the dog keeps my company and I love it very much—almost like my children.

The kitchen was filled with corn demons. They we’re unbearably naughty, and we had no idea how to get rid of them. We thank Saint Paschal Baylon, because with our prayers and little bit of holy water we chased these damned demons away.

One day I was cooking and I felt I was floating in the air. I managed to come down only some time later. I was afraid and prayed to Saint Paschal because I continued to fly every day. Finally the saint made me understand that it was caused by quesadillas with mushrooms that I loved so much and ate frequently. Obviously, they were hallucinogenic. Now, when I stopped eating them, everything is back to normal. I thank the Saint because it’s hard to cook while flying.

Sister Clementina and sister Lucia dedicate this retablo to Saint Paschal Baylon in gratitude because he blessed them and gave them ability to make mole and chili en nogada that the bishop enjoyed so much. He was very happy with the food.

My kitchen was filled with rats. I was scared to grind flour on the floor because I was afraid they might bite me. I prayed to Saint Paschal for getting rid of the rats. One night I had a dream about the saint holding a kitten. The next morning, a cat came to my kitchen. It did away with all the rats. They never came back, and I thank Paschal for this miracle.

The Sunday I made a tasty mole for my husband’s birthday dinner. But I dropped the pot, it fell and broke into pieces. The mole spilled on the floor. I felt miserable and didn’t know what to do because our guests were about to arrive. I was smitten with remorse so I entrusted myself to Saint Paschal. After that I picked up the mole in another pot. By the miracle it looked like it didn’t fall on the ground. On the contrary, it was tastier, and nobody became ill after eating it. I give thanks.

Although I wasn’t beauty like my sisters, I married the handsome and kind man who loves me very much. All this thanks to the gift of cooking I had from Saint Paschal. So I always cook something delicious.

We went to Guerrero for a couple of days to visit my aunt Josefina. When we came back we found out that our kitchen was flooded with giant cockroaches. They were everywhere, even on the ceiling. We couldn’t get rid of them and prayed for help to Saint Paschal. Thanks to his intervention the cockroaches disappeared. We thank for it.

My kitchen had been flooded with rats. I couldn’t get rid of them. They were so big and there were so many of them. All my family was frighten. The rats became so impudent that they came out at any time. I was desperate and I promise a retablo to Saint Paschal Baylon if he could help me. The saint promptly helped me and the rats disappeared in the next few days.

March 17, 1953, the stove was exploded because of the raw green branch. I thank Saint Paschal Baylon because me, my little daughter and the cat only got our hair singed a little. But nothing bad happened. I dedicate this retablo.
