I thank the Holy Virgin of Guadalupe for the enormous talent which the Mexican mime Mario Moreno Cantinflas was born with. His character, humble and innocent, conquered the people’s hearts and got the admiration of the world making him a movie icon.

1959, Petra Sanchez came to Mexico to work as a housemaid in a house in Las Lomas. She thanks Saint Pancras because she met Cantinflas there and he even danced with her.

Moises Vargas thanks Saint Martin the Cavalryman with this retablo because his cowboy clothes shop has a great success and even Vicente Fernandez himself has bought from him.

I wholeheartedly thank the Holy Child of Atocha because when I was a little boy I met the great Roberto Gomez Bolaños, Chespirito. Don Roberto’s fabulous talent gave to Hispanic America unforgivable characters like Chavo from the 8, Red Grasshopper, Chompiras and many others that played an important part in the childhood of many people.

I dedicate this retablo to Saint Nicholas of Bari for the talent that the actor Bruce Davidson has. When I was a child I saw the movie “Willard”. As a result, I have a deadly fear of rats. I hope Bruce doesn’t suffer from the same fear after having shot this horrifying but marvelous movie.

The grandfather climbed a tree out of stubbornness but he fell, got a terrible blow and broke his hips. He was very sad he couldn’t walk. We thank Saint James because Frida the painter elevated his spirit when she visited us.
