The Night of the Dead I was walking down the street. To my surprise, near the bar I bumped into a group of skeletons. They had a party and they invited me to join in. I prayed to Saint Jude for protection. The skeletons disappeared, and I went my way. I offer the retablo for this.

The chef Nicolas Sanches was depressed after his wife had left him. He decided to prepare for himself an exquisite dish with rat poison. He thanks Saint Jude because he got scared and didn’t eat it after all.

Ramon Garcia was hunting for deers and was attacked by a wolf. Ramon thanks Saint Jude with this retablo because he managed to chase the wolf away although it hurt him a little.

Señora Mercedes was ironing clothes in the house of the Cataña family and was looking after Nicanor, the 10 months old baby. While he was playing he pushed the table, and the hot iron fell down. Realizing what a terrible accident could happen, Mercedes thanks Saint Jude Thaddeus for saving the baby from the iron. She ordered this retablo for escaping from this situation.

Felipe Suarez got locked in wine cellar, and he drank as much as he liked. But the next morning he got an unbearable hangover. He promises to Saint Jude Thaddeus not to be so irresponsible.

The Ruiz brothers, Ernesto and Andres, were playing with ouija, and a devil appeared to them. The devil licked them both. They prayed to Saint Jude Thaddeus, and the devil disappeared. They thank the saint and promise never to play this board again.
