Because her boyfriend left her, Elisa Morales dedicated herself to eating trying to kill her pain. But she started to gain weight. Her cat and her dog started to put on weight also. They were like balloons. Elisa realized that she couldn’t put her clothes on anymore. So she prayed to Saint Paschal Baylon to control her appetite. The Saint worked the miracle, and Elisa met a handsome young men whom she fell in love with. And this new love helped her to lose weight.

When my husband got retired, he started to cook in order to spend his free time. He cooked so terribly, that we all had a stomach-ache. I was scared that he’d poison all of us. Thanks to Saint Paschal, he got bored with cooking and dedicated himself to gardening.

Laura and Catalina Peña were in a bad financial position. So, since they were good pastry cooks, they had an idea of selling cakes. They thank St. Paschal Baylon, a patron saint of cooks, because now they make enough money to support themselves and even to save something for hard times and also for having fun sometimes.

With this humble retablo I want to thank The Holy Child of Atocha for the miracle that my wife Monique finally learned to cook Mexican food. She is french and didn’t know how to make mole or some other dish that I liked. And now I’m enjoying all this food.

The Dominican Sisters Convent thanks Saint Paschal Baylon because they received a big order on eggnog and mole from some foreigners who remained delighted with its taste.

Our cupboard was invaded by rats. And our cat became so lazy that he didn’t catch them and slept all day long. I prayed a novena to the Virgin of San Juan because I was frightened that rats could bite us and eat all our food. The Virgin were kind enough and work a miracle. All rats disappeared exactly in the last day of my prayers. I thank for this.

I made a very delicious cake for my daughter Marcela’s commitment dinner. But unfortunately my younger children are very gluttonous, so they ate almost entire cake. But luckily, and forgive me God, my daughter’s fiancé got mumps, which he caught from his little sister. The dinner was canceled. And I’m immensely grateful to the Virgin of the Rosary because the parents of the fiancé are very stiff and haughty and I didn’t know how to solve this problem with the cake.

Martina Fernandez offers this retablo to Saint Paschal Baylon thanking him because her masters liked everything she cooked for them. They are very good to her since she had started to work for them as a cook.

Ignacia Castillo offers this retablo to Saint Paschal Baylon as a sign of gratitude for helping her get a job as a cook in the ranch “Los Gorriones” (“The Sparrows”). As a test of her skills, she was asked to prepare tortillas and mole. The masters liked how it tasted. And it was rumored that they were very strict about food. So now everybody is happy with her cooking.
