I dedicate the present exvoto to Saint Jude Thaddeus for the great talent of the painter David Alfaro Siqueiros. His vision of social problems and his particular style of capturing the working masses, workers and peasants made him, along with Rivera and Orozco, a distinguished figure of the muralism.

I dedicate this ex-voto to Saint Benedict thanking him because, despite watching so many horror movies, I never have nightmares. I’m a fan of horror movies, and, although they scare me a lot, I enjoy the tension and adrenaline this genre is causing me.

I dedicate this exvoto to Saint James the Apostle in honor of talented Nicholas Vince. He performed many memorable roles and played them well, even with a lot of makeup and costumes. He is truly a master of his craft.

I’m an American and I’m fascinated by the pre-hispanic cultures of Mexico. Every year I traveled to Mexico on my vacation and I’ve visited Monte Alban, Teotihuacan, Tula, Bonampak. But this year I’ve had to cancel everything because of the coronavirus pandemic. I beg Saint Christopher, patron saint of the travelers, to find a cure from COVID-19 sooner so I could visit the great Chichen Itza in Yucatan.

I’m thanking, with all my heart, the Virgin of Guadalupe for keeping our family tradition of knitting. My mother and grand-mother were weavers and they taught me since I was little girl. My serapes, huipils and rebozos are highly valued among the foreign tourists who buy them when they visit my town.

I dedicate this retablo to Saint Nicholas of Bari for the talent that the actor Bruce Davidson has. When I was a child I saw the movie “Willard”. As a result, I have a deadly fear of rats. I hope Bruce doesn’t suffer from the same fear after having shot this horrifying but marvelous movie.

My family members criticize me for studying philosophy in the university for more than 15 years. I thank Saint Jerome for there is this wonderful magic weed that helps me to understand the philosophic concepts. I don’t care what people say and I don’t care about studying so long because with these trips I’ll become the greatest philosopher of the new millennium.

I have always been a very serious and calm man. But when I got to my 50 I realized I hadn’t enjoyed many pleasures of life. One day I went crazy and fulfilled my fantasy of being with three women at the same time. I’m infinitely grateful to Saint Expeditus for inspiring me to do that because now, when I’m locked up inside in quarantine, it’s comforting to know that, although I was older, it was real fun.

My uncle Pancho and I live in California. One day I returned with groceries for the quarantine and I almost had a heart attack seeing my uncle going to drink a bottle of disinfectant. I thank the Holy Child of Atocha because I arrived in time to stop him, otherwise he would have ended up in the hospital with poisoning, following Donald Trump’s advices.

My boyfriend and I were going adventurous and experimenting with new things. We got an idea to make love on the roof, behind the water tank. But we didn’t figure that a neighbor would go there as well to hang her laundry. I asked Saint Barbara for help, and we got an idea to meow like cats so the neighbor didn’t catch us in act. I give thanks for that.

I dedicate this exvoto to Saint George for the health and career of the wrestling legend Mick Foley. I watched with horror when the Undertaker threw him from the cell, and I was surprised that he not only survived but climbed back to fight few moments later. Mick Foley is a remarkable athlete. I wish him many more years of success and happiness.

I dedicate the present exvoto to Saint Jude Thaddeus thanking him for the success of the movie “Roma” and especially its director Alfonso Cuarón who deservedly took three statuettes at the last Oscar ceremony, and this is the pride of all Mexicans.

We beg the Lord of Chalma, from our hearts, to end quickly the quarantine and the COVID-19 virus so that our children could go back to school because we can’t stand being locked up with them any longer. They only cause havoc, and my wife and I are about to explode from the stress.
