I dedicate the present retablo to Saint Paschal Baylon thanking him because my grandmother Petra instilled me love for the kitchen since childhood. She was a great cook, and I inherited this from her. I discovered my vocation, and I’m a professional chef now. I proudly bring the taste of the traditional Mexican cuisine to the entire world.

Saint Charbel, thank you for your favors. I’m very glad to be with Marcelo because he accepted me as I am. He knew I prostitute myself. He keeps me very happy with his food because he’s a chef. He’s also etching me to cook. When I learn it I quit prostitution. Want to change my life and get a more decent job.

When I went to work as a cook to the United States, I missed traditional tacos al pastor more than every other food. I bring this retablo to Saint Toribio Romo with eternal gratitude for letting me open my own taqueria place which has got a big success as much with my compatriots as with the Americans.

I’m a terrible cook. Thats why my mama used to say I’d never get married. But thanks to Saint Paschal I found a husband who cooks marvelously. He adores cooking, and it is his passion. He prepares delicious dishes for me and our kids. I thank Saint Paschal, the patron of cooks.

I am grateful to Saint Bridgette because the aliens need a private chef to cook yummy food so they abducted me.

Saint Jude Thaddeus, thank you for all your favors. It happened so I met this handsome european guy Robert in Oaxaca, on the beach. Turned out he liked men as I do. We fell in love, and Robert even thinks to move to Mexico and to open here a restaurant, since he is a qualified chef. I thank for having met Robert.

I thank Saint Paschal because I was admitted to the monsieur Pierre Bouvier school. He is the best chef but also the most strict teacher in the town of Santo Tomas. Thanks to the saint I cook very deliciously and occasionally invent new dishes. My teacher is very pleased with me. He thinks I’ll be a good chef.

Thank you, Saint Charbel, for sending me the love of my life. Let my friends be critical about me for he’s much younger than me. But it’s not important because love sees no age. I want to open a restaurant for him because he’s a chef, a marvelous chef. Thank you, Saint Charbel.
