I thank Saint Paschal, a patron saint of cooks, because with his divine inspiration I became a very good pastry cook. Together with my daughter we make cookies and cakes. We’re earning a living for our family, and we are doing good.

I went to the mountains to gather wood. I was about to eat my juicy chicken when the Bony Death appeared and asked me for the half of my chicken. With all my heart, I implored the Virgin of Guadalupe. The horrible apparition sat down to eat in silence and then disappeared.

September 25, at the celebration, Carlota Valdez ate 12 tamales, 8 tacos, 2 pozoles, a capirotada and two times chicken with mole. For this sin of gluttony, many little red devils came that night to punish her. They pitilessly pinched her wit their tridents. Then she repented of her great sin and begged the Virgin for forgiveness. The same moment the Virgin of Zapopan scared the devils away, and they disappeared.

My patrons asked me to cook some mole and two turkeys. I was feeling bad to kill birds. I thank Saint Paschal because I convinced my patrons to have another dish and they even gave me those two turkeys as a gift. I took them back to my hut, and I’m very glad.

Mauricio Rincon thanks Saint Martin the Cavalryman with all his heart because he inherited his grad-father’s secret meat recipe which he could use in his small taqueria. It gave a great taste to his tacos, and the clients enjoyed it very much. He dedicates this retablo for such a miracle.
