I dedicate this drawing to the Virgin of Guadalupe in her Day, December 12, 2013, as sign of my eternal gratitude for showing me that despite my wife Maria Virginia de Sosisoxitl being incapable to cook neither ceviche nor pozole, she still can be very good at the kitchen… and dirty.

We went to Guerrero for a couple of days to visit my aunt Josefina. When we came back we found out that our kitchen was flooded with giant cockroaches. They were everywhere, even on the ceiling. We couldn’t get rid of them and prayed for help to Saint Paschal. Thanks to his intervention the cockroaches disappeared. We thank for it.

Everybody likes how I cook. People always ask me what is my secret. It’s the Virgin of San Juan who sends her angels to make my food delicious. They add some salt and thyme here and there. And I give thanks to the Virgin for this miracle.

My daughter Maria was in marriage age. She was very pretty but she was an awful cook. I prayed to Saint Anthony so that he make her a better cook. Otherwise she would never get a proposal. Saint worked the miracle, and my daughter began to cook better. And with a recipe book that I bought her she even prepared very tasty dishes.

The Enedina Varela’s kitchen was filled with huge rats. They were eating all the food. Enedina prayed to Saint Paschal, and thanks to his intervention the rats disappeared and never came back again.

My kitchen had been flooded with rats. I couldn’t get rid of them. They were so big and there were so many of them. All my family was frighten. The rats became so impudent that they came out at any time. I was desperate and I promise a retablo to Saint Paschal Baylon if he could help me. The saint promptly helped me and the rats disappeared in the next few days.

March 17, 1953, the stove was exploded because of the raw green branch. I thank Saint Paschal Baylon because me, my little daughter and the cat only got our hair singed a little. But nothing bad happened. I dedicate this retablo.

Maria Antoniela Perez broke her back when she tried to reach the top shelf of the cupboard. The cupboard fell on her and smashed her. She and her parents, doña Luz and don Ramon, give thanks to the Holy Virgin of Zapopan because the girl marvelously recovered. And the doctor said she is going to be alright.

A devil had come to live in our kitchen.
I almost can’t distinguish the words after that. The devil wasted the food or stole it. He caused some damage and maybe push off one of the ladies. They prayed to Saint Paschal Baylon and the devil disappeared. The women give thanks.

My stove had been possessed by the fire devils. Every time when I started cooking they tried to burn me causing big flames. I prayed to Saint Paschal Baylon to take these devils away from me. Following his advice I asked father Jose to bless my firewood. After that the devils left and didn’t return.
