Gregorio Zamora used to smoke weed and listen music all day long, until one day his parents kicked him out. He thanks the Holy Child of Atocha for he found job pretty quickly and quit his bad habits.

I dedicate this retablo to St. Martin the Cavalryman for helping me to find another job, because before I worked wearing the hamburger costume. It was so heavy and stuffy, that I fainted a lot. But the most humiliating part was that not even the dogs respected me. But now I have a quieter job.

Virgin of Guadalupe, thank you for keeping me away from vices, women and pernicious habits. Also thank you because now I have my own cajon and with it I can earn a living for myself, my kids and my wife.

I worked as a fire eater on the streets of Mexico and one day I accidentally burnt my mouth. I prayed to you, Virgin, for healing and you helped me. And now, thanks to your mercy, I’m back to earn my living.

Ignacia Castillo offers this retablo to Saint Paschal Baylon as a sign of gratitude for helping her get a job as a cook in the ranch “Los Gorriones” (“The Sparrows”). As a test of her skills, she was asked to prepare tortillas and mole. The masters liked how it tasted. And it was rumored that they were very strict about food. So now everybody is happy with her cooking.
