We had poverty and a lot of others problems in our town. But the Virgin of Guadalupe send her angel to protect us under his wings. The things are going better now.

The tempter-demons tortured and chased me. I give thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe for sending her host of angels to chase the demons away.

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, may you be blessed for the miracle because I left this woman of easy virtue. I was crazy about her, she made me forget about my wife and kids. I deeply repent and ask for forgiveness.

My husband was a heavy drinker, and God punished him with hallucinations. One day the hallucinations were so horrible and he saw strange monsters chasing him. He entrusted himself to the Virgin of Guadalupe, mounted the mule and left the village. God led him to the capital, in a place where several months later with Virgin’s help he was cured. He came back home cured from his madness, and he doesn’t drink anymore.

We thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because it took us five years to save enough money to go on vacations here, to the Acapulco’s beaches.

You saved me, Virgin, from a nagual that appeared to me this night. Thank you for scaring him away.

I’m eternally grateful to the Virgin of Guadalupe for saving my wife when she had birth and no one was around to help her. Not knowing what to do I appealed to you. We were coming back from the Basilica where we asked for your blessing as we do every year. Suddenly my wife started to give birth. One woman and her daughter Lupita who worked at the market helped her. My wife was alright, and my son was born safely. I thank you for our fortune and dedicate this retablo to you and to the woman and her daughter. I’m going to name my son Jose Guadalupe because he was born on December 12, 1930, at 12:30.

The Virgin of Guadalupe gave me the delight of flying three nights in a row. I flew under the moonlight, over the fields and over the towns. Although my husband told me it were only dreams, I know it was real. I thank the Virgin for the beautiful and unusual experience and dedicate this retablo to her.

I dedicate this drawing to the Virgin of Guadalupe in her Day, December 12, 2013, as sign of my eternal gratitude for showing me that despite my wife Maria Virginia de Sosisoxitl being incapable to cook neither ceviche nor pozole, she still can be very good at the kitchen… and dirty.
