The mariachi band “Sun of Tecamachalco” thanks Saint Cecily with this retablo because she finally made Lupita, our singer, understand that she was a horrible singer and with her howl we were only loosing clients and offers. Now we are better. Since Lupita dedicated herself to the trumpet we are very happy.

I dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of Guadalupe because even thought I had only three piano lessons and could play only with one finger my dear grandfather gave me the opportunity to perform in a piano recital in one of the many theaters he owns in the capital. And according to my fiancée I didn’t make many mistakes and the audience remained pleased enough.

I’m thanking my dear Saint Martin de Porres because since I had my own band I can confuse and mock my musicians when without letting them know I change the rhythm of the melody making them look like inexperienced beginners in front of the audience.

I am vey happy because I will not have to use my bus to go on tour with The Grateful Dead so I dedicate this retablo to the Virgin Mary.

My fiancé and I give thanks to the Holy Sacrament because we got married and we are so enamored of each other. On the day of the wedding, we were so happy, that when we came out the church we started running and laughing, because the musicians we had hired followed us but they couldn’t play a tune and were making a lot of gestures.

Rafael Chavez thanks Saint Cecily with this retablo because he was accepted in his town’s symphonic orchestra as the first violin.

I’m thankful, because there were many very crazy people at a concert in Neza, and I didn’t know what to do. Then I entrusted myself to Baphomet. I turned up the volume and everything went very well.

On the night of November 2, 1982, my girlfriend Lupita and I went to a date to the cemetery, because my mother-in-law didn’t permit to Lupita to have suitors. We were alone chatting, when suddenly some skeletons appeared. They were dancing and playing some instruments. We got scared and promised not to come to the cemetery ever again. Thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe we didn’t get sick and we even get married. So now we’re happy.
