I was coming back home after buying a piglet, when a devil made my horse to stumble on the rocks. That devil had been following me for days, doing his shenanigans. There were a lot of cacti in that place where my horse stumbled. But thanks to the Virgin nor the horse, nor the piglet, nor I fell into them but landed on the grass. After that accident I bought a medallion of the Virgin of Zapopan, and the furious devil had to leave me in peace.

We bought a couple of piglets at the San Pedro fair almost for nothing, because they were sickly and weak. But we nursed and cured them. They grew up big pigs. Thank to the Holy Virgin they had a lot of piglets. So now, our little farm is prospering, and we thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for her blessing.

Virgin of Juquila, thank you for giving me courage to defend the pig of my mother-in-law, when my husband and his mistress tried to take it.

Virgin of San Juan de Los Lagos

My husband not only went to live with this bitch Lupe, but also one day he came to take our pig. I thank Saint Barbara I noticed it in time. The saint gave me enough courage and extra strength to not let him take the pig away.

I dedicate this retablo to Saint Pancras. Thanks to him I invented a marvelous machine which makes the most delicious salami and pork sausages in Queretaro.

We thank the Virgin of Zapopan because, although the goat is very stubborn and the pig doesn’t like to walk and we had to carry it, we managed to bring them to the animal blessing.
