I dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of Lourdes for protecting me and my clerk from heartless bandits who on April 20, 1970, entered in the branch of the National Rural Credit Bank. They were armed, they tied us and they gag us, but they didn’t murder us.

On August 21, 1956 when the couple Salinas Duran were going back to their ranch they were attacked by bandits. Don Jesus and his driver were severely wounded. Doña Maria Salinas and Rosa Perez gives tanks to the Virgin of Rosary because theirs husbands didn’t die from blood loss and now they are recovering.

Rafael Diaz were drinking in a bar when robbers arrived. He thanks the Virgin of Juquila with this retablo because they didn’t check his underware where he hid his half-month pay.

A woman was traveling in a strange city when robbers mugged her, stole her purse and credit cars and ID and left her lying in the road to die. A priests saw her lying there and walked on by. A lady came by who was very rich and was a member of the Junior League and the D. A. R. That lady was late for an appointment so she fed some stray dogs and rushed off. Just in time who did not go to church and had no social class saw the stranger lying in the road. He bandaged up the stranger’s wounds, got a motel room for her and paid all the bills.

September 14, 1919, on our way to Queretaro, we were attacked by bandits. They took all our donkeys with corn. Thanks to you, Virgin of Guadalupe, they didn’t kill us.

Genaro Rodriguez went to the town to collect some money and on his way back he was ambushed by bandits. They took all the money. Genaro thanks the Virgin because don Jasinto hadn’t yet payed for a calf, what would have been a big amount of money, and had payed only for chicken, what was not a big amount. He offers this retablo.

I was very annoyed because my dogs followed me everywhere. But one day I was delivering my shop proceeds to the bank, and a robber with a knife wanted to attack me. My dogs attacked him instead, and he had to ran away, having nothing but some dog bites. I thank the Virgin of the Rosary for my dogs protect me very well.

I was coming back home very late. Suddenly I was attacked by a man with a gun. He wanted to rob me. I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and suddenly a very handsome man decidedly blocked the robber’s way. The robber got scared and ran away. And now I ask you, Virgin, please make so this magnificent man would marry me.

When I came out of my house, a robber tried to grab my bag. But my cats saw me being attacked by a man with a knife and jumped on him biting and scratching him. The robber got scared, dropped his knife and ran away. I thank the Virgin of San Juan because my cats are so brave and love me so much.

I thank the Virgin of San Juan for helping me when I was attacked and raped by the robbers. They didn’t kill me nor did they infect me with some bad mortal disease.

We were going to town to sell fruits when we were attacked by some bandits. But thanks to the Holy Spirit they saw that we had only fruits and no money, so they let us go without doing any harm to us.
