My little daughter had horrible nightmares. I was worried when I heard her screaming. I prayed to the Virgin for help. The Virgin send her guardian angel who confronted the devils of the bad dreams. The angel chased them away from my little girl. Now she dreams calmly, with sweet dreams.

Every night Alicia Montoya had a dream about a devil raping her. She prayed to Saint Patrick, and the nightmares stopped. She thanks for that with this retablo.

I was very ill. I had a fever. In my dream I saw the devil who came to took my soul. But the Virgin of Guadalupe send her angel to help me. So the angel and the devil played cards for my soul. The angel won, so when I woke up next morning my temperature settled and I was feeling better. I thank the Virgin for that.

Thank you, Virgin of Guadalupe, for giving me the courage and the tolerance to listen the damned devil’s sins.

A devil had come to live in our kitchen.

I almost can’t distinguish the words after that. The devil wasted the food or stole it. He caused some damage and maybe push off one of the ladies. They prayed to Saint Paschal Baylon and the devil disappeared. The women give thanks.

I, Juan Peña, and my buddy, Delfino Hernandez, thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for sending us a relief from a heavy diarrhea when we saw the fucking devil while being totally drunk.

My stove had been possessed by the fire devils. Every time when I started cooking they tried to burn me causing big flames. I prayed to Saint Paschal Baylon to take these devils away from me. Following his advice I asked father Jose to bless my firewood. After that the devils left and didn’t return.

I entered in the bakery and saw some devils eating the cakes. For a moment I was frightened but then I summoned up my courage and prayed to Saint Ignatius of Loyola. And the devils immediately vanished. Thanks to Saint Ignatius.

When I became a widow, I decided to get retired. I devoted myself to embroider and to care about my dogs. But one day the devil appeared and whispered in my ear some sinful ideas. Then I started to look with lust at the pharmacist Manuel and even on our priest. When I realized my distress, I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan. Thanks to her inspiration I accepted the doctor Vazquez’ marriage proposal. Now I think only about him. And I thank the Holy Virgin for saving me from the devil.

The demon played a bad joke on me and my daughter. He made small pieces of coal fall on our clothes and put it on fire. But thanks to the Holy Cross we managed to put out the fire. We thank for that.

Josefa Gutierrez went to the town to sell fruits. On the way there, her donkey got furious, because of a wasp sting, and threw Josefina off. She fell on the rocks and hit her had so badly that she saw how the death and the devil were approaching to her. But thanks to her angel guardian, who came and gave her few slaps, she recovered consciousness. The devil and the death had to leave with nothing. Josefina thanks for they remained disappointed.

My conscience wasn’t so clear, but when one night I woke up and saw some little devils jumping around me, I prayed to the Virgin telling her that my sins weren’t so big that it would be a case for the devil. Nevertheless, I promised her to be a better person. Thanks to the Virgin I haven’t seen any devils since. And I behave better now.

Thank you, Virgin, for hearing my requests. I didn’t sleep by nights, because the devil kept appearing to me from the well.
