I thank God for I got a job in a circus after being fired from the police because of my old age. Nobody wanted me, and here they love me so much.

To the Holy Virgin of San Juan, I dedicate this retablo thanking for protecting me from the immigration police when they were running after me. I entrusted myself to her and was able to get to Rio Bravo, hide myself and cross it. With her blessing, I came to California and got a job. I saved good money and opened my tacos shop here in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.

My husband Eusebio could only find a job at the cemetery. But he is easily frightened. I ask you, please Holy Virgin, would you find him another job.

Finally. Rest in peace, my mother-in-law.

Immigration police caught me when I was working without documents. They accused me of stealing and threw in a jail in Dallas, Texas, US. Finding myself in this trouble I implored the Protectress of the Mexicans, Our Lady of Guadalupe for my freedom. She worked me the miracle of proving my innocence. Now I give thanks and keep on working as it should be.

Young man B. L. used to get excited by touching the feet of the lady clients of the shoe shop where he worked. His bosses noticed it and fired him. He thanks Saint James with the present retablo because he has overcome this obsession with professional help.

I finished my university studies as a lawyer. But few months passed by and I couldn’t find a job. Then I agreed to work as a clown at children parties because of my financial needs. I’m infinitely grateful to Saint Martin the Cavalryman because I’ve finally found a job I studied for, since my every encounter with mischievous and uneducated children was a nightmare.

I, Gabriela Magdala Lopez Ramirez, want to thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for all her favors received during 2019. I almost went crazy from the headache and anxiety attacks, but I managed to calm my mind by praying so my swim ring didn’t blow up. Thanks to the Brown-skin girl I got new jobs—one on TV and I staged my play in the theatre. Also our Union of Artistic Associations got bigger and better. Thanks from the heart.
