I thank you, Virgin of Guadalupe, for all triumphs you granted to my wrestling idol—El Santo, The Silver Mask. I’ll keep telling his story because the art will never die.

I was selling cold beer at the wrestling arena. I was distracted and didn’t noticed that the wrestler Superpig jumped off the third rope on his opponents but almost fell on me instead. I thank Saint Charbel because I stepped away in time. Otherwise he would’ve squashed me and my bucket of beer.

I love going to the wrestling. The other night, I was coming back after the performance and I had to pass through a deserted alley. Suddenly a guy scared me and took my bag. I thank the Virgin of San Juan because my idol, the wrestler Aztec Warrior was passing by. He heard my scream and ran to help me. He caught the robber, so now I admire him even more.

The wrestler named “The Tyrant” overdid his jump and flew over an old lady and her grandson. He thanks Saint John Bosco, with all his devotion, for his injuries healed quickly and he was forgiven.

I thank the Virgin of the Shrine for surviving after a suicidal and badly thought out jump to the benches. I had bad luck and hurt myself badly, but I’m all right after all.

I bring this retablo to Saint James the Apostle for letting me dedicate my life to what I’m really passion about—the wrestling. I thank for my successful career that was crowned that night when I won the mask of my arch-rival Dark Shadow, earning the admiration and applause of the audience.
