July 18 I walked out the don Niko’s butcher shop, and I was attacked by the Joel’s dog. When I saw the dog biting me, I entrusted myself to you, Virgin of Guadalupe, asking to save me and to not let me die from the bites. Don Panchito came to help me. I thank you and dedicate this retablo for I’m safe and sound.

I was cutting beefsteaks for doña Mari and I cut my wrist. I though I’d gonna lose my hand. I entrusted myself to you, my mother Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, asking to not let me lose my hand. Now I’m thanking you because it’s been healed.

On the day of Gilberto’s and mine wedding I ask the Virgin of Guadalupe for a sign that our marriage would be happy. When we went out of the church a lot of doves flew to us. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for this sign and for our present and future happiness.

The Caveman and I fell in love with each other during this wrestling season. We moved to live together, and we’re very happy. However, we don’t take off our wrestling masks because it adds mystery to our relationship. We thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for our happiness.

Some kind of naughty devils possessed my dresser. They crumpled my clothes and made holes in my stockings and underwear. I prayed to the Virgin of Guadalupe for a divine intervention. With the Virgin’s help and with a bottle of holy water I managed to get rid of the devils. However, sometimes I sprinkle holy water on my clothes so they wouldn’t come back.

Alberto and Marisa went to gather wood for the fire for the supper. It was already night time when, in the moonlight, they saw an enormous strange luminous animal. It looked like it was from a peyote dream. The children got scared first, but then they saw that it was harmless and friendly. They felt peacefully and happy standing next to it. This feeling has last for many years, and they thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for this adventure.

I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because the hospital cleaning lady arrived right in time before the doctor would have raped me taking advantage of my helpless condition.

I met Jose the Caveman in the wrestling. After fighting together we fell in love with each other and became a couple. The problem was that Jose was very jealous for every stupid thing. We ended up fighting and wrestling at home. I was afraid our relationship wouldn’t last, so I prayed to the Virgin of Guadalupe. She helped me to convince the Caveman that I love only him and no on else. He’s much calmer now and less jealous.

I fell in love with the twin sisters, Lupe and Gabriela. They both reciprocated me. They used to divide everything between each other but to divide me wasn’t a good idea. I couldn’t decide myself whom I prefer better. So I prayed to the Virgin of Guadalupe and she made so Gabriela fell in love with another young man. So now I can marry Lupe without other temptations.

A nagual turned into a dragon and tried to abduct Meche, the most beautiful girl in the town. But Meche said the powerful name of the Virgin of Guadalupe at loud, and the nagual got scared and vanished like smoke.
