I met Arturo few months after his wife had died at the day of their wedding. We fell in love, and, after waiting one year of his widowhood, we got married. But after coming back from our honeymoon I began to see his first wife’s ghost every night. She was furious and looked at me with so much hate. Arturo slept like a log and of course didn’t see any of this. And me—I was trembling in fear. Then I ordered a requiem mess for her soul. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because the ghost hasn’t appeared ever since.

It was very late when I was conic back home so I decided to cut my way. Suddenly I saw a gorgeous she-devil in front of me. She called me seductively so that she could grab my soul and take it to the hell. I prayed the Virgin of Zapopan and thanks to her could resist this devilish temptation. I ran to my house at full gallop and came home safe and sound.

My wife ate more and more. She even brought food to the bed. All the sheets were in crumbles, and she became so fat, she occupied almost all the bed and pushed me out of it at night. I was anxious to get my good sleeping back so I prayed the Virgin of Zapopan. Right away my wife stopped overeating and even started losing some pounds. She became so beautiful, even our new neighbor commented me how nice looking she is. And I thank for I sleep well again.

I was very happy taking the sun at the beach when suddenly hundreds of crabs began to surround me. They were getting closer and closer to me. I thought they were going to attack me all together at once so I jumped away very scared. But then I noticed that it was my radio what was attracting them. It seemed they loved the music which was very beautiful by the way. I thank the Virgin for this miracle of saving me from being attacked and pinched by those melomaniac crabs.

My son Luisito was kicked by the milkman’s donkey. The boy was in bad condition. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for his recovery.

I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for being a part of the folk dance group of my state. In this way, I’ve been able to travel around the world and to show a little bit the colors of my beloved Mexico. I dedicate this humble retablo for that.

I enjoyed reading books in the yard. One day a little girl came by and asked me to read to her. Now I have a lot of children coming by. I read them, and I enjoy it very much. I thank the Holy Virgin because the books and the children alleviate my loneliness.

We were going by the old road to Lagos de Moreno late at night, and the ghost of a bride appeared to us. She was wondering around looking for her groom. We were so scared, our hair turned white. But thanks to the Virgin of Zapopan’s medallions which our grandmother had given to us and which we had been always wearing on our necks the bride didn’t notice us. They said she takes all the men she met and drags them to her grave.

I was doing my laundry on the river. I was thinking over all my life problems and didn’t notice that one shirt had been taken by a current. I dove after it—it was my husband’s best shirt. I grabbed it and there underwater I felt calmness. Everything around was quiet and silent. My body relaxed, and I let the water to carry me. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for she made me react before I drowned. I got out few miles down the river with a great wish for life such as I had never had before.

When my husband went to work at the north, I felt very lonely at evenings. Then I began to play guitar and sing outside. Little by little my melodies attracted all the cats from our neighborhood. They were captivated by my music. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for this big company I have now.

My sister and I went to the town to buy tortillas. When we were passing by a forest we saw skeletons. They appeared from the woods and started chasing us. We were holding our babies and we couldn’t ran very fast. We were scared but the Virgin of Zapopan protected us. The skeletons began to lose their bones and they stopped to pick up their arms and legs. We managed to escape and ran to the church to thank the Holy Virgin.

I met my friend Carolina and we started to chat. Suddenly some cats began falling on us. They were fighting on the roof. When they fall they hit a flower pot and it fell on my head. I began to see double after the blow. I saw non-existing tings also, strange buildings, odd people and weird animals. I prayed the Holy Virgin to heal me. I thank her because two days later everything was back to normal.

The kitchen was filled with rats, and my friend didn’t want to come over. I was ashamed. I payed nine days to the Virgin of Zapopan. On the ninth day the Virgin made a miracle. All rats disappeared and never come back. Now I can invite my friends to my house.
