Thank you, Virgin of Guadalupe, for saving me during that accident. January 1958, I was crossing a street and was hit by a car. My hip was broken, and I couldn’t walk for a year. I used a wheelchair. I prayed the Virgin of Guadalupe to help me to recover after many surgeries.

Virgin of Juquila, thank you for your favors. I was going from Oaxaca in direction to Puebla. Suddenly a trailer braked in front of me, and I couldn’t stop in time and hit it. I hurt my legs and my forehead, but miraculously, I survived. They observed me in the hospital and let me go three days later. I dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of Juquila.

I dedicate this retablo to Saint Fulgentius for helping me to save enough money to buy a used car of the prestigious American brand Oldsmobile Toronado. It has a fantastic V-8 engine with 455 cu. The distinction is quite clear—it separates the men from the boys. Driving this car is insuperable, thanks to magnificent Front Wheel Drive and to the Torsion Bar suspension. I hope now I could save more money to buy the transmission, the fuel pump and the alternator which are broken.

A friend offered his car to Roberto Gutierrez but forgot to tell that there was a corpse in the trunk. Roberto was held by the police. He entrusted himself to Saint Jude, and after long questionings he was acquitted of the crime. The guilty person paid for his crime. Roberto brings this retablo in gratitude for that.
