My friend Eladio and I are known as real men and tough guys, so everybody in the town respects us. We give thanks to Saint Michael the Archangel with this retablo because no one knows about our big secret that we go to the mountains to be free with our love affair.

I met a handsome young man on the beach in Puerto Vallarta. I began to suspect that he was gay, because every time he passed by he glanced at me smiling. Also, he liked pink towels. I thank Saint Anthony, the patron saint of lovers, because I tried my luck and talked with him, and now we’re a couple.

The Jaguar and I fell in love with each other while wrestling. Now we live together, but we still remain enemy at the ring. We will never take off our masks. However, we thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for our happiness.

I was dreaming to meet my love but I was afraid I’d never find it for being a transsexual woman. So then I began to look for a boyfriend on the internet, and there I met a wonderful man whom I fell in love with. I thank Saint Pancras for when we met in person and I revealed my secret to him he accepted me saying that it’s my heart and my feelings what the most important for him.

Thank you, Saint Sebastian, for helping us in our relationship. It’s tough because our families are against our love. Amapola Ruiz and Enriqueta Vazquez give thanks.

Muchas gracias to St. Sebastian for answering our many prayers and making it legal for us to love one another.

Virgin of San Juan, thank you for your favors. I thank because my adorable Nuco has returned to me. He dumped cause of a misunderstanding but one year later he has come back. We went for a iconic with our friends to celebrate it, and afterwards we visited the temple to exchange vows to love each other till death do us apart.

I offer this retablo to Saint Rose. I decided to visit very famous lesbian tattoo artist in Tijuana to make a surprise for my husband’s birthday. But when my hubby saw my body all covered in tattoos he freaked out and kicked me out. He didn’t want to know me anymore. But the most amazing thing was that after this I came back to Tijuana and went to the lesbian artist with whom I had already started falling in love. Now we’re living and making tattoos together.

We thank you, Virgin of Guadalupe, for giving us the opportunity to celebrate one more year of being together as a couple. We were bullied for being homosexuals, but we didn’t care because we are happy.

Virgin of Guadalupe, thank you for the comfort you gave me. I was late to my work so I come back home. My partner wasn’t at home, I went to the roof. To my surprise I saw him hugging with another man. We had a huge fight, and he told me he had been going out with that guy. I kicked him out. It was very painful to me, but I had to break with him for good.
