My husband used to come home very tired. He had no energy for intimate things, and that worried me. I prayed Saint Thomas Aquinas for help, and the next day my friend gave me a seafood recipe. I prepared it, and it turned out to be a very strong aphrodisiac. It gave so much power to my husband that we had a great night of unbridled passion, for which I thank.

I’m infinitely grateful to the Holy Virgin of Guadalupe for helping me every day with so many clients who buy my tamales. I didn’t have a job and by a chance found my mother’s recipe of tamales with mole, pickled peppers and sweet green sauce. And the people of the town like the taste of it.

The night of May 30, 1949, some guys robbed don Carmelo Medina’s shop taking advantage of his wife being alone. The robbers took all the money they’d earned last month and also grabbed some bottles with expensive liquor. Thanks to the Holy Virgin, the gendarme Natividad was having a meal in the tavern of Lupita who has big eyes and very delicious tacos. He caught the bad guys because they didn’t notice him standing in the shadows. Don Carmelo thanks the Virgin of San Juan.

Since I didn’t know how to cook my dishes always turned out horrible. I was in despair and asked Saint Paschal Baylon for help. Little by little my cooking skills were improving. Now my husband is very much satisfied with my food and even has bought me new pans and pots. I give thanks for that.

When I went to work as a cook to the United States, I missed traditional tacos al pastor more than every other food. I bring this retablo to Saint Toribio Romo with eternal gratitude for letting me open my own taqueria place which has got a big success as much with my compatriots as with the Americans.

My patrons asked me to cook some mole and two turkeys. I was feeling bad to kill birds. I thank Saint Paschal because I convinced my patrons to have another dish and they even gave me those two turkeys as a gift. I took them back to my hut, and I’m very glad.
