I bring this retablo to Saint Peter thanking him for my job. I sell coconut oil to the tourists on the beach. In addition to earning my money, I also enjoy applying the oil to the backs and legs of the beautiful foreign women.

The northern group “The Brave Ones from Apodaca” gives thanks to Saint Cecily for the miracle of recording their first album. They were paying for years at festivals and private events, and one day a musical producer heard them. He offered them a good contract with a label. Thus their dream came true. They dedicate this humble retablo for that.

With devotion, I’m thanking the Virgin of Guadalupe for a miracle that I’m still working in my shoe-repair shop. I had some difficulties in my business and was ready to close my shop. But now everything’s going well again. Sometimes I had so much work, I can’t cope with it.

I went to the park every morning with an excuse of exercising in order to look at one pretty girl. She was exercising there. Unfortunately, one day she took her dog out. When the dog noticed me spying on her, it attacked me. I didn’t know how to escape and prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan for help. That moment the dog stopped chasing me. I thank the Virgin and promise to not spy anymore.

Since my cousin came to live with me, she was constantly flirting with my boyfriend. She used to put her mini-skirt every time he was coming to me. I’m thanking the Virgin of San Juan for my cousin moved back to her town and my boyfriend never payed her attention. I’m feel myself calm and happy now.

My colleague from the route and I were racing against each other. We were driving so fast we almost hit the people crossing the street. I thank Saint Christopher for we managed to brake in time avoiding an accident. I promise to be a more careful driver and not to do stupid things.

In August, don Laureano Mendez was stung by a scorpion in the field. He implored the Virgin of Zapopan for her divine help, and in few days got recovered. He was back to his job as a tlachiquero—pulque gatherer. For such a great miracle, he dedicates this humble retablo.

I’m thanking, with all my heart, the Virgin of Juquila for keeping our family tradition of knitting. My mother and grand-mother were weavers and they taught me since I was little girl. Now my serapes, huipils and rebozos are most valued among the foreign tourists who buy them.

The former landowner noticed us one day that she had sold the building and was very sorry that we would be moved out and would have no place to live. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank Saint James the Apostle because the new owner turned out to be a good person and he let us live with a fair rent. He even offered me a doorman job and arranged a nice party for us.

My wife was a compulsive buyer. We used to go to the mall, visiting all the shops there and buying clothes and shoes with my credit card. I was scared that I couldn’t control her. I prayed to Saint James the Apostle, and he worked a miracle. Now my Leticia is more conscious and thrifty. Her previous way of spending would’ve bankrupted me.

I dedicate this retablo to Saint Francis as a testimony of my eternal gratitude for saving my bulls. There was an epidemic at the farms in our region, and miraculously my cattle was saved. I’ll be always grateful for that.
