Our town was always a quiet and peaceful place. But suddenly a true devil nest with tempting she-devils was opened. The she-devils lured our husbands in their damned den and got all their money from them. We discussed this with the priest, and one morning, when the place was closed, sprinkled it with holy water. Then we put crosses on the door, and the priest performed an exorcism. Those doors to hell never opened again, and we got our husbands back. We thank for that.

On my way back from the market, I was talking with my fired Josefina. We stopped near an abandoned house. Suddenly, a skeleton appeared from the house and tried to catch us. Only thanks to the protection of the Virgin of Zapopan, we managed to escape from this ghost. The Virgin healed us from the fear that kept us for a few days after. We thank for that with this retablo.

I was taking my children to the school. We decided to use a short-way—through the Estrella rancho. Suddenly a giant bull started chasing us. My children jumped over the fence, and I, being very fat, couldn’t do it. I prayed to the Virgin of San Juan and by pure miracle I felt light as a feather. I jumped on the fence at ease although it was painful to fell over the fence because all my weight came back to me right away. Nevertheless, I was saved from the bull, and I’m thanking the Virgin.

Juanita Garcia went to the river to do her laundry. Suddenly she felt very sleepy. She didn’t notice that she’d seated under a brugmansia tree. She started seeing strange things in her dream. Suddenly she saw the Virgin of the Rosary who told her “Wake up, my daughter! Wake up immediately! If you don’t wake up now, you’ll never do.” Juanita heard her dog barking and woke up. She thank the Virgin for saving her, because they say who falls asleep under a brugmansia tree will never wake up again.

I was feeling sick and went to the bed early. I was dreaming. Suddenly I saw big colorful demons dancing around and singing like a chorus. I prayed to the Virgin of Guadalupe because I knew I wasn’t a big sinner after all and my bad deeds weren’t so bad that the devils should come after me. It seemed the Virgin protected me, because the demons began to dance away and escape through the window. I felt relieved. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for saving me from eternal fire.

I was watering my garden when suddenly the spaceship landed near. There were extraterrestrials coming from it. They have presents for me. They greeted me. Maybe they thought I’m a big ruler on the Earth and my dog is my prime minister. I gave them cookies and some lemonade, we talked a little bit without really understanding each other. They left the presents and go away very satisfied. I hope they won’t invade the Earth, because they gifts turned out to be very strange. I didn’t know what to do with them and put them on the fireplace mantel.

My sister and I, we are widows with no children. We were a little bit lonely so we began to adopt some dogs which were abandoned by people because they were injured, or little bit aggressive, or restless. Then we realized there are thousands of dogs on the streets. So we opened a shelter where the dogs could live until some caring and responsible people adopted them. We thank Saint Francis for filling our lives.

My daughters and I went to the mountains to gather some herbs for our grandmother. On our way back, a strong wind arose, it started raining and the stones began to fell down. We entrusted ourselves to Saint Liberata, and not even a small stone hit us. After that we descend from the mountains. We were wet, cold, but safe and sound. We thank for this amazing miracle.

Marta Juarez and her daughter Maria were coming back home from a dinner late evening. They met a company of happy skeletons in a dark alley. The skeletons were celebrating the Day of the Dead. Marta and maria were so frightened, they couldn’t move. They thank the Virgin of Zapopan because the skeletons didn’t notice them and passed by, chatting and laughing.

Less than three years had passed from our wedding when my husband got lost in a sea storm. I was left all alone with my baby. To provide for us, I—without knowing anything about the fishing— took a boat, a net and went to the sea having prayed to Saint Barbara. Thanks to her help I got good fish in my net. I sold them and kept fishing. Little by little I studied all fishing tricks. I thank the saint for this miracle.

We were coming back home from the grandmother Martina. We were going through the cemetery, and a ghost appeared to us. We got scared and ran away, but the ghost followed us trying to take us to the other world. We prayed the Virgin of Zapopan, and thanks to her the ghost didn’t catch us. We were so frightened we ran all the way to our house. We dedicate this retablo to the Virgin.

I was coming back home after buying a piglet, when a devil made my horse to stumble on the rocks. That devil had been following me for days, doing his shenanigans. There were a lot of cacti in that place where my horse stumbled. But thanks to the Virgin nor the horse, nor the piglet, nor I fell into them but landed on the grass. After that accident I bought a medallion of the Virgin of Zapopan, and the furious devil had to leave me in peace.
