Virgin of Juquila

Nora Pineda and her brother were on Catemaco Lake and there they saw a giant cone shaped precious crystal. It was multicolor. Suddenly it shattered into small splinters that turned out to be UFO. They went in different direction and flew away into the space. Nora and her brother prayed to the Virgin of Juquila and now they offer the retablo.

I bring this retablo to the Virgin of Juquila thanking her for my son Euastaquio finally straightened his life up and found a job. He was already 35 years old, and he was doing nothing. I couldn’t support him any longer.

Virgin of Juquila, thank you for your favors. I miraculously survived after being gored by the bull. I was going cool as a cucumber when the bull attacked me from behind. When he hit me, I went unconscious. Also, I’d like to thank a mister who brought me to his house and tamponed my wounds to stop bleeding. He went for a doctor, and I quickly recovered.

I didn’t expect to inherit corn fields after one of my distant uncle’s death. But my mother gave me an idea to sell sweet corn on the streets. I thank the Virgin of Juquila because the sales are going well and I’m much better as a vendor than as a farmer.

The girl Yolandita Garcia brings this retablo to the Virgin of Juquila thanking her because her hair has grown back and she can make pigtails again. She lost her hair because of a chemo.

Virgin of Juquila, thank you for your favors. I was going from Oaxaca in direction to Puebla. Suddenly a trailer braked in front of me, and I couldn’t stop in time and hit it. I hurt my legs and my forehead, but miraculously, I survived. They observed me in the hospital and let me go three days later. I dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of Juquila.

I’m thanking, with all my heart, the Virgin of Juquila for keeping our family tradition of knitting. My mother and grand-mother were weavers and they taught me since I was little girl. Now my serapes, huipils and rebozos are most valued among the foreign tourists who buy them.

I thank the Virgin of Juquila for giving me the happiness of my son Benito Dxuladi, born in 2010. I dreamt to become a mother but, with my health problems, there was a big risk of dying if I get pregnant. I thank the Virgin for this miracle and dedicate her this retablo, thanking for being a mother. Now all my husband’s and mine difficulties are left behind.

I was thinking about my fiancé and lost the sense of time while perming the client’s hair. I tried to wet and dry the hair, but they still sticked out like a clown wig. I was scared I’d be fired and started to pray to the Virgin of Juquila. But it happened so that the lady liked a lot her new hairstyle. She even thanked me. I give thanks to the Virgin.
