The Gonzalez family was visiting the town party. When they were coming back home after 9 p.m., they were attacked by robbers. They told the bandits they didn’t have any money. The robbers got even more angry and were treating to kill all the family. The Gonzalez entrusted themselves to the Virgin of San Juan with their hearts, and the attackers let them go without doing any harm.

1914, on my way from Tepiac to the ranch in Torija, I was attacked by three men from Santa Cruz. They tied me to a tree and scourged me. I entrusted myself to Saint Michael the Archangel and now thank him for saving me from death.

Holy Child of Atocha, thank you for having heard my prayers. I organized a bus trip to Zitucuaro, Michoacan, because I had a bus. It’s an old model but in good conditions. We almost arrived there when suddenly we were stopped by three armored men. They called themselves agents and began to check the passengers—as they were saying— for drugs and weapons. I was worried for kids. There were 10 of them in the bus. I think they were “sicarios” hitmen, because they were asking me what gang I’m in. I prayed them to let us go and finally they did.

I was going back to my hut when suddenly a bandit jumped out on my way. He was going to hurt me. I thank the Virgin of the Solitude for giving me the courage to take away the pistol from the bandit and defend myself. I saved my life, and I have three kids who totally depend on me.

Malverde, protect us from our odious enemies. Chapo patrols his territory since there are some rumors about the enemy gang snooping around. We don’t want any surprises. We have few men down already, and besides that, we have to beware of the army.

Mother Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, thank you for leaving us alive when we were attacked by some miscreants during our journey.

Two bandits got in the Chong Nakamura’s house while he was at home. But Chong could resist the assault with his samurai sword. He thanks Saint James with this retablo for he didn’t get arrested in spite of injuring those bandits very badly.

The Padilla brothers set an ambush to kill me right after I would enter the town. But since my horse sprained its ankle, I entered the town afoot among other people going out of the tavern. The bandits didn’t notice me. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for saving my life and dedicate her this retablo.

The night of September 30, I was coming back to my ranch when I was attacked by bandits. They beat me, tied me up, put a gag in my mouth and left me in a pit in mountains. I thank the Blessed Sacrament for my dog found me and I was saved.

I went to the town to collect some money in order to pay to the workers from my rancho. I was followed by some suspicious evil-looking men. I entrusted myself to the Virgin of Zapopan and she made my horse run like a lighting. It ran so fast, we left those men behind. They were probably bandits. I thank for such a wonderful miracle and dedicate this retablo.

Some bandits attacked the train when Menche and I were on it carrying our money to buy the parcel near the river. I thank the Virgin who gave me strength and courage to go up to the roof with all my money. The bandits didn’t find me there and we bought the land that we wanted so much for having our own little rancho.

I was robbed by a bandit who took my money and my horse and left me wounded in the field. I felt life leaving me through my wound. I entrusted myself to the Saint Michael Archangel, and then the Padilla brothers, who were passing by looking for the lost livestock, found me. They took me to the doctor. I thank for that miracle of Saint Michael that saved my life.

Jesus Malverde, we thank you for your protection. We passed over an hour in a hard confrontation. But when we almost ran out of bullets, we managed to escape safe and unharmed, with the goods.
