There were some strange plants growing in my flower pots. They looked nice, so I let them grow. Then I noticed that the plants were eating insect. That was intriguing. But then they tried to catch my cats. I prayed the Virgin of the Rosary to protect my cats. I was going to throw these plants away, but my neighbor, a teacher, offered me good money for them. He wanted to take them to the school because they were rare specimens.

My cat Marujo every night goes to hang around and comes back very late and all beaten up. His girlfriend Julieta worries a lot about him. I ask you, Virgin of Gaudalupe, for my cat Marujo and entrust him to you. Make him behave well not to let Julietta worry.

My wife used to take all our cats into bed when we were going to sleep. I couldn’t sleep nor do my matrimonial duties while a black cat was staring at me with his yellow eyes. Then I implored the Virgin of Guadalupe, and thanks to her my wife stopped bringing the cats into bed. Now we sleep and enjoy ourselves alone, and I thank for that.

One day my house was invaded by bats, but thanks to Saint Quiteria I’d went to the movies to see “Dracula” a day before, so they didn’t catch me by surprise. I put a garlic collar on my cat and amend myself with a cross so they wouldn’t suck our blood. We defended ourselves until the saint threw all these infernal beasts out of my house which I asked her for with devotion. I thank for her protection.

We thank Holy Mary for when a cat similar to ours, with the same spot on the tail, got the habit of coming to our house, we were able to tell one from another and let inside only our cat, who came from Ural. Since then we feed the other cat in the yard, but two times per day.

On my tenth pregnancy, when I brought Luisita to the world, I went mad. One day I left the house and started wandering. I walked at the streets, they called me the Cat Lady, and I lived on the benches in the Alameda park. But one day Ruperto found me, and when I saw my baby I recovered. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe.

My daughter was born with a strange illness that stopped her from receiving the sunlight. We had to organize a nocturnal life for us. It was little bit difficult at the beginning, but then we got used to it and built a beautiful world under the moonlight. We keep cats instead of dogs, we have an owl instead of canaries, we grow impossible plants and instead of sunbathing we are moonbathing. I know when the moment comes my beautiful daughter will meet a man who will be willing to share this world with her. I thank the sky for we are happy in spite of everything.

My cat Toto was very lazy, and our house became flooded with rats. They scared me terribly, and I asked the Virgin of San Juan to deliver me from them. She worked a miracle, and on July 15, 1951, the rats disappeared and never came back.
