Saint Jude Thaddeus, I thank you for hearing my prayers, so now my old woman is cured. She fainted a lot. The doctor said it happened because of lack of food, and probably she had anemia. I couldn’t provide more food for her because I didn’t make enough money selling dishes. Now I’m old and can’t work. But before we lived good, and I had a cattle herd. But my sons forced me to sell it to cover their needs. We had three sons, and no one is taking care of us. All of them went to Los Angeles, California. They’ve lived there for 12 years. Sometimes they send us three postcards and some dollars. But the most important thing now is that my old woman Francisca is cured.

I asked for that with all my heart, and the Virgin granted my wish. We had a marvelous day. I was so happy to move again and to do sports. This favor was so special for me.

Al palomo del Comalito / To the dove of the griddle

I dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of the Rosary. At the feast of Xilonen for the holy shubaa (?) of my town Miahuatlan, field of corn ears, I, as a grinder, found myself in a difficult situation. My head and my arms were in pain. I asked the Virgin to set me for this job that I’m humbly doing. I asked to give me strength so I could prepare tortillas and sell them to the people who wanted to buy my tortillas. I thank the Virgin for I’m back to work after long illness and many disappointments in my life. I offer my retablo with all my devotion.

Lord of Chalma, I thank you for saving my son from vice. He was lost and stopped working. It got so bad, he fell seriously ill. He swore to stop drinking for 10 years. Five years have already passed, and I bring you this retablo, as I do every year, thanking you for his willpower.

Whenever Rafael Martinez had a gout attack, he yelled at his wife throwing everything she brought him. Doña Mirta prayed to the Virgin for healing her husband. The Virgin heard her prayers, and don Rafael got better. They thank for that.

The girl Ofelia Tellez was attacked by vampires while playing in a cave. She got rabies. Her parents thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for the timely medical intervention.

Leonorilda Perez went to a fortune-teller, and she told her that a man would give her an unforgettable surprise. It turned out to be gonorrhea, and only the Virgin of Guadalupe was able to cure her. Leonorilda thanks for this favor.

I wasn’t feeling good, I had a fever, so I went to bed early. At night I saw all the cats from the neighborhood flying around me. My cats were also flying, and they looked beautiful with wings. Nevertheless, I had a strange feeling about it. I supposed cats didn’t fly. So I became afraid I was going mad. I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and she heard my prayers. Everything came back to normal, and my cats became common, ordinary cats. I thank the Virgin for I didn’t become insane.

My husband got ill, and the doctor said that he must stay in bed until he cured. My life became a real night,are. He asked me to bring him unimaginable things and after a while he didn’t need them anymore. Or he asked me to cook for him some complicated dishes, but then he left the food and didn’t eat. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for he got recovered quickly, otherwise, I would’ve gone insane.

A rare disease was killing pigs in our parts. Thanks to the fact that we gave to drink holy water to our pigs, they got cured and now they are healthy. We offer this retablo to the Virgin of Zapopan for that miracle.
