With this humble retablo, I thank the Holy Child of Atocha for granting me health so I could celebrate another Christmas and holidays with my family and keep carrying the pilgrims because it’s the annual tradition. May you be blessed.

Anselmo Barrientos was resting after the work in the field. He was drinking pulque when he saw the bony Death. Anselmo wasn’t a young man, but still he had no desire to die yet. He prayed the Lord of Blue Eye. The Lord scared the Death away, and it left Anselmo in peace.

With all my heart, I thank the Holy Child of Atocha for giving me my health back. I had a very case of pneumonia, and no remedy could helped me. I was afraid of leaving my grandson totally helpless. But now I’m healthy again, and I dedicate this retablo for that.

I met a woman of my dreams. But every time I was at her home and tried to kiss her, her cat began to meowing like crazy. Then her grandmother came in the room with angry face. I was desperate and asked the Virgin of Guadalupe for help. The grandmother decided to go live with her other grandsons, and she took the cat with her. Now nobody interrupts me while I’m kissing my Rosita.

The day of my wedding, the dogs didn’t recognize me because of the wedding dress and start bitting it. I was afraid they were going to tear the dress and prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan. Thanks to her my grandmother scared the dogs away, and they left me in peace. I thank for they didn’t tear my dress and my wedding was very beautiful.

Señora Carmen Ochoa thanks St. Charbel with this retablo because she was given an assistance dog so it’s more easily for her to walk.

I love going to the wrestling. The other night, I was coming back after the performance and I had to pass through a deserted alley. Suddenly a guy scared me and took my bag. I thank the Virgin of San Juan because my idol, the wrestler Aztec Warrior was passing by. He heard my scream and ran to help me. He caught the robber, so now I admire him even more.

The wrestler named “The Tyrant” overdid his jump and flew over an old lady and her grandson. He thanks Saint John Bosco, with all his devotion, for his injuries healed quickly and he was forgiven.

Our grandmother used to chase out all our boyfriends with a broom. Also she kicked away the postman, the butcher and any other man approaching the doors of our house. We thank the Virgin of the Rosary for she finally moved out to our aunt Rosa. So now we can have boyfriends and receive the love letters from them.
