I was very apt at fashion design, and my boyfriend was a good tailor. We opened an atelier, and things went so well that now we have become high-fashion designers. We’re thinking about opening our own firm. We thank the Virgin of the Rosary for our talents.

Ofelia Medina was cheated on, so she put her wedding dress on, since she won’t have to wear it, and threw herself into the lake. But a fisherman noticed her and saved her. Ofelia thanks the Virgin of Zapopan because she met a new love in her savior.

The night of September 30, I was coming back to my ranch when I was attacked by bandits. They beat me, tied me up, put a gag in my mouth and left me in a pit in mountains. I thank the Blessed Sacrament for my dog found me and I was saved.

That night, I was thirsty, and I went down at the kitchen to take a glass of water. I was in fear finding some martians there. They were sitting at table and eating. My dog, which always had been a good guard, was hypnotized or paralyzed. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because the aliens didn’t notice me and I could escape safe and sound. I hid myself until they were gone.

A mermaid enchanted my husband with her singing. She wanted to take him to the bottom of the sea. I prayed the Virgin of San Juan, and she gave me enough strength to pull my husband form this damned mermaid’s arms. I thank the Virgin.

The doña Paca’s tavern was very popular until one day a new joint opened up near by. They had a jukebox and offered free soft drinks and bread to the meal. Nobody came to doña Paca anymore. She was desperate, so she entrusted herself to Saint Francis. And a miracle happened right before her eyes. Giant cockroaches came from a garbage can and went in a line to the new tavern. So now the people prefer the doña Paca’s tavern again. She thanks her saint promoter.

It was getting dark. My daughters were in hurry to get home, so they decided to take a short cut through the don Pancho’s ranch. Suddenly the devil appeared to them. He was hiding among the cows. The girls were frighten, and they ran faster than the wind. Thanks to the Virgin’s protection, the devil couldn’t catch them.

Raquel and Clara Garcia had seven kittens. The landlady wanted to throw them out of the apartment, because the cats made a lot of noise and sharpened their claws on the furniture, that also was rented. Raul, the nephew of Raquel and Clara, help them in such a distress and bought them a nice little house with garden. Raquel and Clara give thanks to the Virgin of San Juan, because now they’re happy and their cats are happy too.

Ana Maria Gonzalez was terrified to find out that she had a sin — gambling. One Thursday, as usual, she was spending time with her friends playing cards. She lost everything and staked her husband’s house. Ana Maria thanked the Virgin of Zapopan for she won that game. She promised not to play again, and as if she would have such a temptation she would go to bake. Now, Ana Maria opened the pastry-shop and it brings her a good income.

Maria Luisa Gomes was annoyed by her suitors. All of them were boring, predictable and kind of ugly. But one day she met Pedro Lopez. He won her heart when he gave her a carnivorous plant. Maria thanks Saint Anthony for meeting such an extraordinary and intelligent man, and, moreover, with pretty eyes. With this plant there are no more flies and mosquitoes in her house.

My fiancé and I were swimming underwater admiring the marine life. Suddenly I was caught by an octopus. It entangled me with its tentacles. I was scared and started to pray Saint Francis. Meanwhile my fiancé blinded the octopus with the flash of his underwater camera. The octopus let me go without hurting me. I thank the saint patron for that.

My husband loved his dogs very much, he even let them sleep in the bedroom. When they got six puppies it became totally unbearable. I prayed the Virgin of San Juan. I thank the Virgin because my husband finally agreed to build a kennel. So I don’t have to suffer from fleas and dog hair in my bed anymore.

June 15, 1968, I was buying vegetables at the market, when a crazy woman stole my baby. I was crying desperately and prayed to the Virgin of San Juan. I was lucky because two market women caught that crazy woman and brought my baby back. I thank the saint patroness.
