I climbed on the chair to get some spices. I lost my balance. I saw my baby sitting down on the floor. I prayed to the Virgin of San Juan and thanks to her I didn’t crush my baby nor the cat because I managed to spin myself in the air and fell near them.

My adorable cat went away and didn’t come home for a few days. I was desperately looking for him until I found him in a neighbor’s yard. He fell in love with a nice pussy cat, and he wasn’t pleased to see me — he didn’t even look at me. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for an idea to adopt this kitty so my cat wouldn’t have to wander about in search of love.

I came back from my aunt earlier than I had thought and I caught my husband in our bed hugging this shameless dressmaker Rosa. I wanted to kill them with the kitchen knife, but the Virgin of San Juan retained my hand. I thank the Virgin because I didn’t commit a murder. But I took the broom and gave the bastards a good trashing though.

On the Day of the Dead, my grandmother and I went to the town for the mass. On our way back some skeletons from the cemetery began to chase us. They were near us when my grandmother turned and whacked them with her cane. The skeletons fell to pieces, and our dog was happy to see so many bones. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for such a brave grandmother.

Our mule had always been very docile. But one day when we were going to San Miguel to sell our flowers it got stubborn and refused to walk. More we pushed him, more he resisted. Then we asked Saint Francis for help. And he must have whispered something into the mule’s ear because suddenly the mule began to walk very lively as if nothing had happened. We thank Saint Francis for that miracle.

My daughter was coming back from school and met an angry rabid dog. The dog started barking. My girl was scared and thought the dog was going to attack her. But thanks to Saint Quiteria the dog only barked and ate the cookies that my daughter had for her lunch-break. Then the dog left. We thank Saint Quiteria for this miracle because that dog had already bitten many people.

I thank the Virgin of the Solitude. I almost lost hope in love. I thought I’d never love again. But love came back to my devastated heart. There will be no more long hours of loneliness that I used to live through. From now on, I’ll have a sweet and wonderful company for the rest of my life.

Since my wife started her diet, she began sleepwalking at the nights. She went to the kitchen and brought cookies, cakes and fruits in the bed. When she finished with this, she went to take more. In the mornings she didn’t remember her night adventures and thought it was me who brought all the food. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because my wife finished her diet because by her opinion she became notably thinner. And she stopped sleepwalking.

I thank the Virgin of the Rosary because in my old age I met a young and fresh woman. We spent time together. In spite of my family’s resentment and the criticism from the inhabitants of the town, I married her because she brings me so much joy into my life, that I hope will last longer. Everybody can say what they want. I do not listen them.

My daughter Marta suffered from terrible nightmares. She woke up crying because she was chased in her dream by monsters, shadows and eyes in the darkness. I entrusted her dreams to the Divine Shepherdess, and she sent her sweet dreams back to her.

My wife loves the cats. She brings every stray cat she found to our house. It’s not that I don’t like that cats. But she used to let them sleep in our bedroom. They didn’t sleep, they played and jumped all night. My wife sleeps like a log, and I started to see hallucinations because of lack of sleep. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because my wife noticed the dark circles under my eyes. She locks the cats in the living room now, and I finally sleep peacefully.

My children were playing on the beach, and my daughter’s doll was taken by a wave. My daughter is a good swimmer so she dived after her doll. But she got tangled in some seaweed and couldn’t get out. I ran to that place where she disappeared but Saint Barbara made so that our brave dog rushed there before me and dragged my girl to the shore pulling by her clothes. I thank the Saint for such a wonderful dog who is a real hero.

I thank Saint Anthony because I met a wonderful man whom I married. Our families get along so we wouldn’t have any problems and our life together would be harmonious. I pray for our love last for ever.
