Federica Herrerias received a tremendous blow at the back of her neck. She was badly injured and dazed. She couldn’t recover and that’s why she implored Saint Charbel. She got cured, and she gives infinite thanks for that with this retablo.

I thank the Holy Lord of Chalma with the present retablo for the great talent of the Mexican muralist Jose Clemente Orozco. His work is recognize on the international level, and I’m filled with pride for he’s a referent of the Mexican art section in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

I dedicate this retablo to the Brown-skin Mother because, although I’m ugly, I’m a big hit with my clients. I have a lot of work, and I already brought my mommy from the village. We live very well, and I pray to stay safe and healthy every night.

In 1940, in Barrio de los Sapos in Puebla, Remigio Gomez crashed his car into a light pole. He thanks the Child of Atocha because he only smashed his snout and lost his teeth.

I implored the Virgin of Guadalupe so that my husband Pepe wouldn’t lose his fingers when he cut himself with the knife while working in the butcher shop. I give thanks because he is alright and didn’t lose his fingers.

I thank Saint Benedict for helping me to keep my great secret that in reality it’s my wife who is the boss in our house and I’m just a henpecked husband. If it became known, it would damage my tough image among the fans and I’d be a joke for my fellows wrestlers. I bring this humble retablo.

I liked señorita Leonor del Castillo very much because she was the prettiest girl in town. But she was infamous for being very arrogant and strict with her suitors. That’s why I prayed Saint Anthony, and he worked a miracle for me so she accepted my courtship.
