I give thanks to Saint Martin the Cavalryman for the miracle that I’m selling all the carnitas I prepare, so I can make money for my daughter Chayito’s first communion. I’m even getting orders from the entire neighborhood.

We give thanks to Saint Jesus Malverde for giving us a good harvest of marijuana. Now we are going to sell it and buy cows and pigs.

Genaro Rodriguez went to the town to collect some money and on his way back he was ambushed by bandits. They took all the money. Genaro thanks the Virgin because don Jasinto hadn’t yet payed for a calf, what would have been a big amount of money, and had payed only for chicken, what was not a big amount. He offers this retablo.

Because of our lack of money, we couldn’t build a stable. And every time when it rained, my wife brought the cow in the house so that it wouldn’t get wet. I hated that, because this damned animal licked my feet and waked me up. I prayed to the Virgin of Guadalupe for money for the stable. The Virgin worked that miracle for me, and now the cow sleeps outside.

Marina Perez worked in a fish shop, and she came home having a fishy smell. Her husband didn’t want to approach her, and Marina felt offended and sad. Then, with all her savings, she opened a flower shop. So now she smells like roses and jasmine. And her husband even offered her to have a new baby. She thanks Saint Anthony because now she is happy.

The great Rita Reyes has money and she’s happy to be a prostitute. Thanks to the Virgin.

Yolanda gives thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe for finding a job as a prostitute here, in La Merced, Mexico. Look after me, so I could send some money to my parents in Pachuca, Hidalgo.

Laura and Catalina Peña were in a bad financial position. So, since they were good pastry cooks, they had an idea of selling cakes. They thank St. Paschal Baylon, a patron saint of cooks, because now they make enough money to support themselves and even to save something for hard times and also for having fun sometimes.

My fiancé Genaro and I had no money for the wedding. But he had a marvelous idea to get married during the Town Day holiday. So we had musicians and fireworks, and so many fun. And it cost us almost nothing. We thank the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Pablo Velez brings this retablo to Saint Peter in order to thank him for catching an enormous tuna with pretty basic fishing gear. With what they paid for the tuna, Pablo now has enough money to buy a new boat.

All of my fighting cocks had been massacred before. So I entrusted myself to the Goddess of the Sea, and my rooster Thunder has not lost a battle since then. He has earned the respect and a lot of money for me.
