Gilberto Morales became a widow. He didn’t wait a year before getting married again. But then the ghost of his first wife started to appear by night. Gilberto prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan for resting the late wife’s soul in peace. The Virgin heard him, and after November 14, 1954, the ghost didn’t appear any more.

My fiancé Genaro and I had no money for the wedding. But he had a marvelous idea to get married during the Town Day holiday. So we had musicians and fireworks, and so many fun. And it cost us almost nothing. We thank the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Señora Rafaela was coming back from the market with her granddaughter when the big angry dog of Aurelio Medina attacked them. The dog had escaped, and it had already sent several persons to the hospital with its bites. Rafaela asked the Virgin of Zapopan for protection for her and her granddaughter. And miraculously the dog calmed down and didn’t hurt them.

My Mother of Guadalupe, thank you for helping my husband Antonio and my sons Joaquin and Pedro to fulfill the american dream. The immigration police didn’t catch them, and they got in the United States to earn some money for living here, in Mexico. From the bottom of my heart, with tears in my eyes, I ask you to look after them.

I thank the Archangel of the Neighborhood for the gentleman withdrew his complaint that my son was damaging his property. He was caught drawing graffiti on this man’s house. I was scared the police would do something with my son because of the manner in which they arrested him. I entrusted him, and the next day he got released. He payed for the damage learned the lesson what is the respect of the others’ rights means.

Our grandmother Margarita entrusted us with her animals while she went to Puebla to visit our aunt Juanita. But the spoiled grandmother’s pig Rosita escaped from me and my brother through our negligence. We couldn’t find her, and we entrusted ourselves to Saint Francis of Assisi, because our grandmother had a bad temper and she would be furious. Thank to the saint we found the pig near by the village and we caught her.

At the end of the 200th anniversary year, I came back to my land. There I met a stray dog, in which I saw bad intentions. It was approaching to bite me. As I saw its fangs, I, Gil Gutierrez Sanchez, prayed to the Lord of the Lightnings, who having heard me playing on guitar and heard my prayers and protected me from the malicious beast.

Pablo Velez brings this retablo to Saint Peter in order to thank him for catching an enormous tuna with pretty basic fishing gear. With what they paid for the tuna, Pablo now has enough money to buy a new boat.
