I dedicate this to the Virgin of San Juan thanking her for delivering me from dying drowning in Rio Bravo. Thanks to David and Miguel, two Salvadorians, who saved my life. Together we managed to get to the United States and achieve the American dream.

I thank the Virgin of San Juan for giving me courage to run away with my boyfriend. Our friend helped us to go live together far away so our parents can’t punish us.

In sign of my eternal gratitude, I dedicate the present retablo to the Miraculous Virgin of San Juan* for saving me when I slipped from the top rope trying to perform an Atomic Hummer.

Tired of gathering wood, Antonia Flores fell asleep. It happened so that a very venomous viper was about to bite her but Our Lady Virgin of San Juan sent her angels to wake Antonia up, and she could escape from the animal. She give infinite thanks to the Holy Virgin for this miracle.

One night a giant toad with a skeleton came to me. It spoke and went away. Thanks for it didn’t hurt me.

One day I was fumbling around the garbage dump and saw my dog Spike digging up something from the trash. I’m infinitely thanking the Virgin of San Juan for the thing I found was a gold Rolex watch. By selling it, my loyal friend and I ate like king for a good while.

Juaquina Carrion ran into her old man sleeping and beat him up. She kicked him so bad she thought he’d die. She prayed the Virgin of San Juan and her old man got cured. She thanks for that although he keeps on loafing.

Some martians moved in the house near us. I was scared, but then, after knowing them better, I saw that they are very nice and generous persons. They get along very well with our family. I thank the Virgin of San Juan for such wonderful neighbors.

Virgin of San Juan, we testify our gratitude with this retablo for letting us escape safely from this airplane accident of the flight AM2431 from Durango to Mexico City on July 31, 2018, for letting us to be ones of 103 survivors and for giving us the second chance to live.

A terrible whirlwind ran over the ranch. Thanks, Virgin, for everything was recovered.

My son Raulito swallowed a spider that seemed to be a very poisonous one. Only by a wonderful miracle of the Holy Virgin of San Juan nothing serious happened to my boy and he only got a stomach pain for a little while.

The opening day in the doña Guadalupe’s tavern one of clients choked on a big piece of grilled neat. The woman was suffocating and even her eyes popped out. Doña Lupe thanks the Virgin of San Juan for the woman didn’t choke to death. Otherwise, it would have been bad luck for her tavern to have a dead customer.
