I’m grateful to Saint Sava because I managed to catch a wild boar while underwater hunting. It was chased by hunters and jumped to the sea from the cliff. Now my wife, who doesn’t like peeling fish, let me go hunting, with a pure heart, hoping I’d bring home another boar.

My truck threw a rod on the way from Tepeaca to Puebla. It was late night, and I got very scared. I implored Saint James, and soon a villager with a donkey passed by. He towed me for which I thank.

Eufemio Rosales went to gather pulque and on his way back met a witch. He thanks the Virgin of the Solitude for he could get safely to his hut, although he and his donkey made huge shit from fear.

Puebla, 1912

My sister Maria and I were swimming in the open sea near the beach of San Javier when suddenly the water under us became dark and enormous tentacles came out of the sea. Our anxiety began when we saw the creature they were belonged to. It grabbed us with a violent move and drowned us like rag dolls. Seeing this, I prayed very hard to the Virgin of Guadalupe for help and rescue. After we almost fainted, the beast let us go, and we could go back to the shore. I testify this miracle.

My husband not only went to live with this bitch Lupe, but also one day he came to take our pig. But Saint Barbara gave me strength and extra courage not to let him take the pig away. I dedicate this real in gratitude.

The factory near the village dumped the toxic wastes into the river, and the animals and fish were dying. All the village was at risk of dying of hunger. We prayed the saints to make the water clean as before. Then the factory grew and they paid the politicians not to impede toxic water dumping. Now no one can live there, not the animals, not the fish, nothing.
