Rosario Mendiola was pregnant with her sixth child. She wanted to look for something in the cellar. But when she opened the door, hundreds of bats flew out and almost hit her in the face. Because of fear, she had feeling that she’d going to have a miscarriage. She prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and the Virgin helped her in this difficult moment. Rosario didn’t lose her baby, and she thanks for that.

The Virgin of the Rosary gives wings to me and my cats every night so we can fly like birds or like angels. We fly over the towns and the fields and all my problems stay down on earth and seem so insignificant in comparison with such an immense space. I thank the Virgin for this night freedom because now I wake up at the mornings much more happier.

One month after our house had been invaded by rats, my husband brought a cat to catch them. However the cat slept in our bed because he was scared of rats. And I didn’t even go to bathroom at night because I was scared they would bite me. Then I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan for help. And I saw the miracle with my eyes. The rats got in a line, left the house and didn’t come back.

I went to the market to buy some oranges. On my way back I saw two frightened kittens cornered by angry dogs. I was screed of dogs but I asked Saint Quiteria to give me courage and to protect me. I put one kitten in my basket and the other one I took under my arm. Then I ran away. Saint Quiteria protected me, and the dogs didn’t get us. Since the kittens were stray I kept them. And now they keep me company.

Some rabbits came to eat the vegetables in my vegetable garden. I prayed to Saint Francis, and he granted me with a gift of communication with them. So I started to negotiate with the rabbits. I promised them to give them rotten vegetables, if they stop ravaging my garden. So now I have my own rabbit farm. They listen to me, I feed them, and everybody’s happy. I thank for that.

It was a cloudy evening and it was blowing hard. My wife had to give birth, but we lived far from the town. The long walk was exhausting, and my wife had a terrible pain. I picked her up in my arms. We didn’t want our little daughter to stay at home alone, so she came with us as well. It was difficult to walk against the wind. But thanks to Saint Raymond Nonnatus we managed to arrive to the hospital before my wife gave birth. And there our beautiful and healthy baby boy was born.

My daughters Carmita and Rosalia, instead of sleeping, secretly went to look on the newborn calf. When they arrived to the grove near the cattle-pen they saw the Weeping Woman who started to chase them. They arrived at home sweating from fear. I prayed the Virgin of the Rosary to cure them because even next two days they were shaking and pale. The Virgin worked the miracle, and the girls forgot about their fear. They are alright now.

There were some apple trees near the river, and the apples had ripened. We went to gather them before they fall to the ground. When we were coming back with baskets full of apples the terrifying encounter happened. We met two skeletons of revolutionaries on our way. One of them was zapatista, the other one was his companion-adelita. They went with their horse. When we saw them we entrusted ourselves to the Virgin of the Rosary. The skeletons passed by and didn’t notice us. Later we found out that they had been waiting in ambush since the Revolution and that day they inspected around. We thank the Virgin because if we had said one world they would have killed us.

Adelita is a type of woman warrior who accompanied a revolutionary during the Mexican Revolution. The term derived from the popular revolutionary song “La Adelita”.

Ataulfo Padilla wanted to kill me because Azucena had preferred me and not him. He was jealous. One day he encountered me and my brother on our way and started to shoot us. We entrusted ourselves to the Virgin of Zapopan, and the bullets didn’t get us. He ran out of the bullets, and we could escape without getting wounded. We give thanks to the Virgin.

My sister and I went swimming. Suddenly we were caught by a giant octopus. It grabbed us with its tentacles and dragged us into the depth. I felt that our lives were in danger, so I prayed to Saint Barbara. She helped us blowing a lot of bubbles that distracted the octopus. He let us free, and we swam to the shore. We thank for saving our lives.

My friend Rebeca was going to get married under pressure of her parents. I thank Saint Barbara because few moments before the wedding I convinced her not to marry. I told her that instead of making the biggest error in her life she’d better come to live and study with me in the capital. We thank Saint Barbara.

The devil made my horse stumble, and I fell and hit my head on the rocks on the road. After that I continue to see the devil for many days. The devil mocked me, and I saw him even with closed eyes. So I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and she made this vision disappear. Now I see normal and see no devil.

I was changing a light bulb and lost my balance. I dropped the fused bulb and it fell right where my little baby was. I thought the bulb would explode and shuttered glass would cut the little body of hers. I was frightened. But the Virgin worked the miracle, and the bulb didn’t break after hitting the floor. I give thanks for that.
