Thank you, Virgin of Guadalupe, for giving them the opportunity to cross the wall and to make their dreams of the family reunion and surviving together in California come true. It’s «chilango» who asked you to protect them.

The night of December 24, 2000, while singing hymns to the Child of God, I accidentally put my friend’s hair on fire. Seeing her burning, I entrusted her to the Virgin of Guadalupe and now thanks for nothing bad happened.

I refused to go with a drunkard, and he grabbed a knife and threatened to kill me. In this danger I implored your protection, and you saved me. Thank you for getting out alive.

Barbershop «Golden Fringe»

I thank Saint Martin the Cavalryman with this humble retablo for not leaving me when I so needed him. I was going to close my shop because of lack of clients. But one day a deputy came to my shop and asked for a haircut. He was so pleased with it that he recommended me to his family and the friend from high society. And my life changed.

Lord of the Miracles, I offer you this retablo so you’d protect my grandson from rats and not let them bite him when he stays at home alone because my daughter goes to work. I came to visit them and found my grandson crying. I scared the rats away. They didn’t hurt him, and I will be always grateful for that.

My favorite movie is “Clockwork Orange” by Stanley Kubrick. First of all because of the great performance of Malcolm McDowell. I thank Saint Martha with this ex-voto for mr. McDowell’s acting talent which serves as an excellent example for the young actors.

Roberto Suarez \ Mexico City

I dedicate this ex-voto to Saint Segismundo “Froy” for giving me the joy of meeting my love in Roma and to end with me being single. I manage better and get rid of my sorrows. I’m happy with my husband and son.

May you be blessed, Virgin of Guadalupe, for Paloma and I met on these paths of the art and I was inspired with her glorious ecstasy. Look after her and bless her way because I will never forget her.

My husband left me and went to the United States, and I didn’t get any news from him. I was left alone in this big city, without money. I began to work as a prostitute in the Merced district. I ask the Virgin of the Solitude to protect me.

The desperate one — June 7, 2000

I dedicate this ex-voto to Saint Martha for the very talented Kristian Nairn. Not only he played one of the most beloved character in modern history but he also is very much respected in the music community for his work as an innovator DJ. I wish him many years of success.

When Pablo came home he saw me chatting with some neighbors. He got angry and started spanking me with his belt. But I felt much more pain because Pablo though I was cheating on him. He yelled at me, cursing with horrible words, and threatened to leave me. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because he didn’t dump me and we live happily together.
