The Holy Child of Atocha saved me and my horse from a lighting that struck in a tree near us. We got singed a little but nothing serious happened to us.

I give thanks to the Holy Child of Atocha because Rober came to live with me in my apartment. I was in misery not knowing where he was and with whom. I dedicate this retablo with happiness on my lips and with joy in my eyes.

I offer this retablo to the Holy Child of Atocha because my leg has been healed. I got it crushed by a wheel of the canon I was in charge of by the order of the general Felipe Angeles. It happened on the Grillo mountain when we were taking Zacatecas on the evening of July 23, 1914. The city was taken by my general Francisco Villa, and I prayed that my leg wouldn’t have get gangrene. Now I offer this retablo to tell about your favor.

I dedicate this retablo to the Holy Child of Atocha. I was practically hopeless because of my addiction to all kinds of drugs and alcohol. But I found a good job in the church of the parish priest don Ernesto, who gives me shelter, clean clothes and good food.

It happened with the boy Toño, who flied his kite, when the cliff collapsed and the rocks rolled down crashing his legs. He was buried under stones. After being told what happened his mother ran to him. When she saw the boy, she entrusted him to the Holy Child of Atocha. She offered this retablo because he was saved. But he couldn’t walk. So she, without losing her faith, entrusted him again. And now Toño is healed and he can walk. Full of joy the mother offers this retablo thanking the Holy Child.

My daughters played with jumping ropes outside. Soledad got tangled in the rope and fell hitting her head. She lost consciousness. I asked the Holy Child of Atocha so that she wouldn’t have her head broken. And the X-rays made by the doctor showed that she was alright. I thank for that.
