I thank Saint Sebastian for the fortune of finding the happiness and the joy of loving and being loved, for making this big dream come true. I feel I’m loved back.

The fisherman Agripino from Angel, Oaxaca, and his son thank the Virgin of Guadalupe, the patroness of the fishermen, for healing his arms and giving him strength to keep fishing in open sea where he catches lutjanus fish. He saved money for a new boat. Bless the fishing with the help of the Holy Virgin.

For all the immigrants!

Virgin of Guadalupe, patroness of Mexico, empress of America, protect the USA and all the latin immigrants of all races and colors who went to that country to earn their living. Help them to keep their jobs and do not let this idiot’s crazy ideas and threats to deprive them of their rights and liberty.

Rufino Orozco from Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco, offers this retablo to the Virgin of San Juan for the miraculous save when he was almost killed goring dangerously and deadly by a bull when he fancied himself as a torrero.

I thank the Virgin of Juquila for giving me the happiness of my son Benito Dxuladi, born in 2010. I dreamt to become a mother but, with my health problems, there was a big risk of dying if I get pregnant. I thank the Virgin for this miracle and dedicate her this retablo, thanking for being a mother. Now all my husband’s and mine difficulties are left behind.

I thank Jesus Valverde for saving me from dying. When we arrived to California (USA), my guide got mad because of being heavily drugged. I entrusted my life to him [Jesus] and could escape. In this retablo, I show this miracle.

With this retablo, I want to give my condolences to the people of Spain and to condemn the terrorist attacks on the innocent people on the Atocha train station and in the Madrid trains. A lot of people was killed. From the bottom of my heart, I ask the Holy Child of Atocha to not allow this to happen again. I’m lighting up a candle and bringing these flowers in memory of the lost.

Thank you, Saint Jude Thaddeus, for protecting me from the damned immigration police. They are like dogs chasing the immigrants, who, like me, have to move to the country looking for a job. Thing are going very bad now—after that damn discriminating SB 1070 law, derogatory to our rights, was passed here in Arizona. So keep your fucking dollars, and I go back to my dear, beloved Mexico. I dedicate this retablo for all humiliated Mexicans.

I thank the Lord of the Willow because my husband Macario doesn’t beat me anymore. He also stopped getting drunk, and we’re very happy now.

I thank the Virgin for my partner is so sensible and he always take care of me when I need it the most. When I had arthritis and the pain made me suffer so much, his attention showed me how much I mean for him. And, with his love, I felt better. May our love be blessed.
