I went to take the tray with the breakfast for my mummy who was sick. When I was coming down the stairs and seeing that she hadn’t eaten anything. I didn’t notice the Jorgito’s ball. I slipped and fell in a very bad manner. I couldn’t move. I prayed the Virgin of Zapopan to not remain paralyze. And she worked the miracle. I only felt some pain and had few bruises.

The night of February 27, 1963, Casimiro Mendoza and his buddy Austerberto went to have few drinks in the tavern of don Venanzio. On their way back to the ranch they ran into the Death riding on horseback. With great fear, they implored the Virgin of San Juan, and she protected them. The Death passed by without approaching to them.

I had some doubts about marrying Arturo. I asked the Virgin to give me a sign, if I shouldn’t marry him. At the day of the wedding, when we were already in the church as a serious earthquake began. I figured it was a sign form the heaven to not marry Arturo. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for saving me from an unhappy marriage.

Panchita Ordoñez thanks the Soul of Mary because she noticed in time that a thief was taking her turkeys. She chased him, and a scoundrel had to let the birds go in order to run from the Panchita’s stick. So he didn’t take anything.

After leaving the town few years ago, when his bride had died on the way to the church, Roberto Mendival came back, full of memories. Since it was the Day of the Dead, he went to put some flowers on his late beloved one’s grave. He stayed over there till dark, reflecting about how it all could have gone different. Suddenly he heard some noise. He saw the dead men leaving their graves. And his bride Clara, who had turned into a skeleton, was among them. She saw her groom and hugged him. Other skeletons prepared everything for a wedding and were looking for a dead priest to conduct the ceremony. Although Roberto had feelings for his bride, he wasn’t into marrying the dead woman at all. He prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and the Virgin hastened the hour of the dawn. With the cockcrowing, the dead men rushed to their graves, and Roberto didn’t have to link his life with a skeleton. He thanks for that.

The Mendoza sisters were scared by a crocodile when they were swimming in the river. I thank Saint Isidor for the opportunity to watch those three Graces running totally naked. This memory will rejoice me on the lonely nights during my long course of life.

When I was riding in the mountains I looked at the valley. And the devil disguised as a snake scared my mule, so we both fell down. I was falling and thinking that I’d die without having loved anyone. So I implored the Virgin of Guadalupe, and thanks to her my mule and I, we both fell into dense bushes. We didn’t brake any bone. I thank for that.

I was afraid of the dark since childhood. I couldn’t overcome it. One day I went to the cellar to get some oil, and the door was shut by a whiff of air. I was locked in the cellar. I couldn’t get out. It was dark, I started to see angry eyes, sharp fangs and hands that were about to grab me. I was losing my mind. Then I started to pray to the Holy Child of Atocha who became a light of sanity for me until my daughter came back and unlocked me.

Rosita and Antonia ran across each other when they came out the market. They talked about the handsome boys of the town. Suddenly two skeletons appeared from the abandon house that the girls were standing near by. The skeletons began to flirt with them and to pay compliments. They asked the girls for a date, and the scared girls prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan for saving them. They ran and hid in the church. Afterwards, the sexton, don Abundio, accompanied them to their house. They thank for that.

My daughter went to ride her pony at the ranch. She met a horned viper. The pony was so scared, it got on its hind legs and my daughter fell of right to the viper. Thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe’s miracle the viper didn’t bite her. Only looked at her and then went away. We thank the Virgin for saving our daughter from the deadly poison.

I was doing my act on the wire when I suddenly had a strange feeling of solitude up there. I started to lose my concentration and, therefore, my balance. Then I felt invisible hand put me back in balance. I was able to get to the end. I know it was the Virgin of Guadalupe who saved me, because I always entrust myself to her.

I loved to go on the mountain to read. One day I was so captivated by the beautiful poems, I was reading without paying any attention. I went to the edge and almost fell of the cliff. But my dog stopped me by pulling my dress. I was saved. I thank the Virgin of the Rosary for such an attentive and smart dog.
