I offer this retablo to the Holy Face of Jesus for helping me to get married and escape from my house, where, after my mother’s death, my stepfather tried to take liberties with me. I asked you to meet a good man who would love me. I’m happy with my husband now, and I thank you for that.

Arturo Vasquez was lying ill in his bed when suddenly everything in the room got up in the air and started floating around. The cats got wings and began flying. His bed was floating too. Arturo felt giddiness and asked the Virgin to put everything down.

The Virgin had mercy upon him and made so he woke up in his bed. Although the cats were still flying, Arturo wasn’t. He thanks the Virgin for that.

On the Night of the Dead, our friends, my husband and I were going to the capital. We stopped to eat in a remote village in Puebla. We noticed there was a bar where the celebration was going on. So we decided to dance a little. But at the midnight all the inhabitants of the village turned into skeletons. We got scared and ran away. We thank the Virgin of Zapopan for the dead men didn’t do anything to us.

My children went to the mountains to gather wood when the thunderstorm began. There were many lightings and it rained very much, but thanks to the Virgin of Zapopan the kids found a cave where they hid themselves and waited until the storm ended. I thank the Virgin because I know there was no cave there, so it was a miracle.

The mariachi “Voices of Mexico” dedicate this humble retablo, with great faith and devotion, to Saint Cecily for having a lot of work because the tourists who came to the Garibaldi Sq. are very fond of their music and hire them to brighten up their Mexican nights.

My daughter Carmina turned into a sleepwalker. I got up at night and watched her so nothing bad would happen. Some time later her twin sister Leonor also began sleepwalking. They went in different directions so I didn’t know whom to follow. I was afraid if I’d go after one girl, something would happen with the another one. I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and they both stopped sleepwalking in the same time. I thank for this miracle.
